The USS Enterprise E is the new flagship of the United Federation of Planets.

After the destruction of the Enterprise-D by a Klingon Bird of Prey, Starfleet decided to rename the second ship of the new Sovereign Class, the USS Honorious into USS Enterprise-E. The Sovereign Class are the most advanced and most powerful ships ever built by Starfleet. Planned to face the Borg threat they have the same science capabilities as the Galaxy Class, but they are primary powerful warships with impressive armament and defense systems ( the phaser armament of the Enterprise-E is up to 92.6% more effective than one of a Galaxy Class starship and the auto-modulated shield system increases effectiveness against both high energy tractor beams and phased polaron particles, measures clearly aimed at the Borg and Dominion respectively ). Her Impulse drive system is the most sophisticated model in production, giving the Sovereign class a manoeuvrability equal to that of a vessel one quarter its size and with it's high cruise speed, Warp 8, and maximum speed of Warp 9.99 it's the fastest ship of Starfleet. With it's command and control abilities it's the perfect flagship for a battle group.
