Winter
'Twas in cold and dreary moment of the late winter; when my eyes fell to the body, harmed beyond recognition and in a frozen preservation. I gasp left my lips, the warm air from the lungs within my chest creating a cloud before my face that quickly rose to join it's larger brothers. I bent over slowly, an excited hand reaching out to touch the delicate skin. Though it had obvioulsy been there for quite some time it still smelt of lovely roses. My hand grasped it's chest lightly, rubbing the frozen skin with as much grace as my frozen hand could. My eyes misted slightly as the second hand left it's sheath within it's jacket and grasped the hair of the lovely corpse. Falling to my knees I pulled the body up, pushing my face into the handful of hair and breathing it in deeply. Against all sense, I followed the compulsions of forbidden desire. Now; with the princess hanging over my shoulder, I marched through the empty streets of the golden city. Many hours passed, and the thoughts of this body began to fill my mind. Screams, shouts, and incoherent threats of blood returned to my numbed mind. And argument of life came upon her lips in the past. It was life she had born to me, and I had taken hers. Her defense had lost in my court of life. And the punishment the jury bore was death. Whether she be the mother of the judge, or another tramp who came home late without excuse.
