submission is pretty easy. simply mail me documents as an ascii enclosure or as mail text. include a brief note about the work(s) and i will quickly respond back saying whether the piece fits format and can be used or not. all submissions will be greatly appreciated.
things to know: 1) make sure your work is original. i can not check for originality so i leave it up to the author. 2) format, format, format. make sure that not only is the work appropriate for dust to dust, but also that it is decent. yes, i will be the judge of this, not you. 3) i will not edit your work without your permission. i would like to stay away from editing as much as possible. i do not believe that i can do so and honestly represent the author. 4) if you want to mail enclosures other than ascii i will need to send you to another address. e-mail me to let me know.
if you want to get reviewed: first notify me by e-mail so that i can anticipate a review. then mail your music to:
Brian Searle Box #1294, Reed College Portland, OR 97202
i accept music from all genres, but i can only guarantee a review if your music follows dust to dust format. music will be reviewed in the following issue. notes: 1) i prefer a complete promotional kit to single discs. this way i have more information for the review. 2) i strongly prefer compact discs to tapes. 3) if i can not review your music (i.e. out of format) i will informally review it through e-mail.
