Executive decision was made to keep the logo centered and as-is. We tried a few other things, and they just didn't work very well.
More interactivity? We have Forums, Chat... you have more suggestions?
A guestbook is out of the question in case you were thinking of recommending one. We don't see the point in a place where people just leave names and small comments, the same can be done here in the Forums too, which are more interactive.
I believe the message board does polls too... I need to go find out how though *laughs*. I've had too much to do this past week with getting the site ready for the relaunch that I've not looked into that aspect yet.
By the way, that .sig file? is it supposed to look like that or is it supposed to be a working JS function?
And never say never... we remain the admins here you know

Heh heh heh...
There's a bit more interactivity that you could try throwing out... A style switcher perhaps (I don't know if you're totally against letting people aim off the red)... There is a bit more, but all in all would require intensive CGI and PHP coding, and since the new look, I wouldn't pass it off on you... *winks*
That banner/logo thing is fine, just my personal taste seeping out...
The guestbook, agreed, is outta the question, especially if you've added the forum...
The sig file, yes, is supposed to be like that and no, isn't supposed to be active JS (too many security issues)
Polls are great, let me know when you figure them out...
Other than that, kudos to the new look...

For closer interactivity, the chat applet will be made available soon. I'm working on the first release now, and it looks like it's going to be tomorrow or sunday evening.
And for fancy moving bits..

Are you going with a premade one??? Or is it of your own design???

A style switcher for the Forums or for the Site? The Forums wouldn't be too difficult to enable, but we specifically chose not to allow skins to keep in theme with the site.
As for style switching the site, possibly, but I'd need to get really bored first before I delve into the code again to change everything. So, probably not.
Polls shouldn't be too hard I guess, but I'll let you know when I've worked them out. Any poll questions you'd like to see users vote on?
Glad you like the new look. I'm much happier with the cleaner and more streamlined look.

For the site... You should really consider using external style sheets and classing everything... If you want the code, I've got the one I want to use for TU.
As for recoding, have you considered using PHP??? The site isn't toooo major right now (I mean that in the nicest way possible...) so it wouldn't be too hard... That way you could just edit whatever file you want and change the whole site...

As you've noticed, we already use external style sheets.
Not adding another colour scheme to chose from is also a personal decision, I don't see the necessity in it really.
The site is kind of intricate as is, it doesn't look too major, but there's plenty of components there. I realised how much it's grown in the past year when I started to re-do it.
As for PHP, I'd have to learn it first as I'd not want to use a lot of the pre-scripted stuff out there (PHP Nuke etc.). Most often PHP sites end up looking like (bad) Slashdot clones, and I'm so over that look right now as everyone and his dog has a site that's a Slashdot clone in some form or another.
PHP is on the "must look into" it list, but I have a few other pending projects currently, so PHP will have to wait.

Didn't mean to insult your uber-coding skills... I was checking out the iB code, totally missed the goth.net source... Whoops, my bad...
You should really, really look into PHP... it's fun, and I wish that the current TU had used it when I started... Which is why I'm rebuilding...
PHP Nuke and PostNuke are cookie cut programs and they all drive me nuts (Well, except for forums). I can't stand them.. If you really want to learn to do PHP the way it's meant to, of course the prime URL I send you is:
http://phpbuilder.com/
Have fun with it, it will teach you a lot... When you decide to undertake it, of course...

Uber-coding skills pffft! And I'm far from insulted. I don't insult easily as a rule.
I will be learning it, but at the moment it's on the backburner. And currently I won't be implementing it on GOTH.NET, but possibly on another project, depends what I want to do with it and what I want it to look like.
And if I decide to learn it, it most definitely will be properly, and not cookie cutter stuff... I code the html by hand too albeit within an editor (gotta love that internal browser). PHP Nuke strikes me as the WYSIWYG version of PHP, like FrontPage and Dreamweaver are for HTML *hiss*

You.... Hand code... HTML??? WHAT??? I thought I was the only one that did, of course it would appear I'm mistaken...
You have to look at this program... Made specifically for web designing.. A spruced up notepad, basically... Biggest features I like??? The Find an replace (great for upper and lower-case replacing, like when I swithed my corporate site to XHTML...) and the customizable color-scheme...
http://www.editpadpro.com/editpadclassic.html
You have another project??? Do tell!!! (likes to keep on top of what's happening in the online world...)
-Shade
PS... I noticed you added the code to get rid of the dotted boxes on your links... Nice feature, no???

Yes, I handcode. I like to know what my HTML is doing, that way when it fuX0rs up I know where to look for the problem. Kind of like that Nissan Xterra ad: "Everything you need. Nothing you don't"
*Hand*Staple*Forehead* I'm such a victim of advertising sometimes. And I don't even watch that much tv.
I use Arachnophilia, mainly for the internal browser, saves loading up pages in IE or so when I make small changes. You can customise it to kingdom come. It also colours tags, so if you forget to close one, you'll know about it as the rest of the page errupts in red and black. Good for that late night coding. It also has a find/replace function... very handy.
The code to remove the dotted line was very handy. It wasn't till I tried it that I realised exactly what it did and how effective it was. Squishy!
Next projects, re-code the site I made for a friend to upgrade it to html4 and css. And then it's on to doing the new site for DarkerNet. Currently it's a temp page, but it will be focused around the logo that's up there already which I made when the temp page went up. The site is for an IRC Network, the one to which the GOTH.NET chat points to.
