Currently, nothing. I read through Science of the X-Files, which was OK, and I keep picking up Anne Rice's Merrick but I don't seem to get around to buying it; maybe because my College Exam Officer is called Merrick.
And he's a man. :P

And of course, I love the Guide.

Speaking of Anne Rice, I finally got around to reading the "The Vampire Lestat" and "Queen of the Damned." I know, I know, pathetic. I read IWTV 7 or 8 years ago, and didn't much care for it (I couldn't stand Claudia). But I picked up "Lestat" on a whim and couldn't put it down. "QOTD" was also a quick read for me--I quite enjoyed both books. :D I'm about to start on "Pandora" now--I'm addicted.

Any thoughts on Anne Rice's Mayfair witch series? I'm probably going to pick that up next.

I really enjoyed The Witching Hour, the sequels aren't bad, some don't like them. The first book is definitely the stronger of the three.

You do realise that Pandora is not the proper one to read if you're going for the chronological order? :P Next after QOTD is Tale of the Body Thief, then Memnoch, Armand.

Pandora and Vittorio are seperate "tales of the vampire" chronicles, with Pandora fitting in after Memnoch and vittorio after Armand if I'm not mistaken. Though Vittorio doesn't deal with any of the 'known' vamps so you can read it anytime. Pandora is stand-alone enough that you should be fine with having read QOTD.

Yeah, I know. :) The storyline for "Pandora" appealed to me, and I figured it would work well-enough out of sequence. :D

Currently I'm reading The Mists of Avalon. I'm not that far into the book to give my opinion on it.

Hope you're enjoying it. :) I found it to be incredibly good---I've read it three times now over the course of about ten years, and it's still a page-turner for me. If you find that you like TMOA, I highly recommend the novels of Diana Paxson and Morgan Llywelyn as well. Their works tend to be along similar lines---retelling the Celtic (and Norse) myth cycles---Tristan and Isolde, Sigfried and Brunhilde, Cuchulainn, Brian Boru, Epona, etc.

Currently I am re-reading "Legend" by David Gemmel. While the theme in many of his books are similar (big battles/sieges), his characterisation skills are top notch.

I'm not reading anything at the moment. My books are packed and hopefully on the way to somewhere close to where I'll end up.

I'm not really reading any books with 'stories.' I like to indulge in reference books more than anything else lately. The one I find myself picking up on a regular basis these days is the 'Professional Guide to Diseases.' It's one of the many reference books I need for my novel and it's also come in handy a few times for real life living. I just find medical books to be quite interesting and 'knowledge is power' so reference books in general are good keys to seeking wisdom.
