Err, yes, it does.

I won't mind the odd one or two, but if you're going to start plastering them in most of your posts, expect them to get editted.

I never posted that many smilies to begin with. I just think it is nice to have a bigger selection. Image

Especially when the images do not work. The first page of this thread being a perfect example. And there isn't much point of inserting a smily if you can't even see it. The red X's tend to make the boards look a little ghetto, in my humble opinion.

I think it's usually when an image dies, or what not. I don't think it happens all too often, because I think the image is usually fixed. Image

You do realise that bandwidth theft through direct linking is often considered very rude, right?

smileys can be fun but like many people said, most of 'em can be expressed by text. personally i prefer serious discussions and topics where you dont need a lot of smilies.

Those smilies were meant for emails, web pages, message boards, etc so I think it is acceptable.

I think text smilies are rather flat and not as fun myself, for lack of a better word. Oh, I'm serious plenty of times (see the abortion thread as well as others) but being serious all the time isn't fun and you can be silly as well. Image

Oh yeah, I agree on that one. Or what about that link about the guy removing his penis. Ugh. Image
