Even though graduation (for me) is quite soem time away (a year) I'm already thinking about what I will be wearing to the ceremony. (Maybe it has something to do with my eager anticipation of getting away from everything I hate about primary school...)

Anyway, I think I have a vision of an outfit chosen:
The Dress
The Hat(I'd try to find a hat without a brown band, though... something all black)

Well.. I was just wondering what everyone thinks? And if everyone might like to show me what they wore to their graduation (primary school or high school) just to give me some ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. :)

You guys have a graduation from Primary School? Bizarre. OTOH, we don't really have a high school graduation to the same extent that you guys do either.

The end of Tertairy education is what we put all our graduation energy into. If memory serves I wore brown velvet to my graduation. I think. It was pretty much the only thing I owned that fitted the dress code, and I couldn't be bothered buying something that I was unlikely to wear again.

I didn't see it as such a big event, but I was already working full time by graduation, and had done my studies part time (while working part time) anyway.

Doth, not being particularly helpful

Eek, I have graduation in a few weeks. I still don't know what to do. It's just middle school, maybe I can run away and nobody will notice. I like the dress...and the hat. :)

Yeah, when I got out of primary school it was just sort of a pat on the back, watch a movie, and eat some cookies. No real big thing.

Yeah, I don't exactly know about the rest of the US, but in the schools in my local vicinity, we celebrate getting out of kindergarten, 5th grade, 8th grade, 12th grade, and then college... twice if you go for your masters. I personally think it's just alot of somethings over nothing. But it's one more reason for me to buy a fancy dress and make myself look pretty. :D

I couldn't see the hat picture for some reason but I love the dress! It's very cute! :)

I have my prom in a few weeks, and so far, I have a dress.
I got it at Cruella, it's a Lip Service dress. It's um... dark purple and black with really small detailed kind of flower patterns. I tried to find a picture on their site, but no such luck.

I have no clue what kind of shoes to get though, nor do I have any clue what to do with my hair.

Anyone have any good suggestions? Especially with the hair... ?

It looks better on me than it does her... :P heh, maybe not.

I kind of wish I never went to my high school graduation...I just wore a typical white shirt, tie, and black pants and boots...Nothing to get so fashion crazy about since the whole outfit was covered over by the gown.

I also wish I didn't go to the prom...though I had a real nice outfit on...

Nice purple dress there, by the way...

I like the little black 50's dress. very chic. :)

I was just sent a packet of photos from my childhood through highschool (why don't my folks want them anymore? Was I that ugly?) as a sort of birthday "present" and saw photos from graduation and whatever that religious ceremony is the day before (can't remember what they'd called it, but I had to go because I was in choir). I looked at the photos and marvelled at how awful I looked. See, the rule was, you had to wear white for some reason. So I was wearing all white and looking a little Madonna-esque thanks to my usual theatrical frills. Ye gads! Well, at least it made a statement (even if that staement was "please shoot me.")
