Wow! First post and you have stuffed up completely. Perhaps you should read the headings for all the sections so you don't look like a complete dick next time you start a thread.

Considering you asked for it, no complaining about it further down the road...

Topic moved to General Discussion due to the inability of the Original Poster to actually read the forum section description.

I'm not even going to bother showing you the URL for the link to the What Goth Is and Is Not post. I assume that since you have the intelligence of a sausage, you'll probably get distracted by a bright shiny object half way through.

well.....thanks for the warm welcome. Didn't read much before I posted, true. :( But what makes you all think I will disagree [or agree] with the answers to my question? I simply want a beutiful portrate of hearts thats all. Not dictionary rendering why we choose to be goth.

Don't attack me, my question was not an attack or a tactic. Why is it so difficult?

The question is not difficult (though I think many may find it a bit personal). The reason you are being attacked is that you obviously can't be arsed to read the forums before posting. In our experience, this usually leads down a slippery slope of having to tell someone to fuck off because they're an idiot. I encourage you to try reading the forums and you might find your "portrate" (it's spelled "portrait", BTW) within our literally thousands of other threads.

We don't pour our hearts out to complete strangers, sorry.
Especially when their next message to us will inevitably be that Jesus Saves.

Nice "dark" aura about your site. I'm sure you've saved the souls of a lot of people with your clever use of red fonts on a black background and lots of annoying frames and animated fire gifs. *snicker*

And don't tell us that's not why you came here, trying to play innocent with us. We saw through your ruse teh moment you put up the title of your first post. Just to give you a heads up before you launch into any more, we like ourselves how we are. The people here who are not American conservative Protestants or members of the Assemblies of God or Southern Baptist Coalition (true Christians, as you call them) are perfectly happy in their own beliefs. We have a religion poll here if you want to take a look at that.

I believe you came here under a lot of misconceptions. You are probably a one-man youth outreach program trying to "save" people of the gothic persuasion. I think you have a noble cause, I believe that trying to share not force one's beliefs with others is always noble. However you're attempting it in a very sneaky, underhanded way.

You were probably told by a higher-up that we are in Satan's clutches and that we are lost souls just because of the fact that we dress in black, listen to different music, and appear different to your limited perspective eyes. Maybe it didn't occur to you that there are several here who believe in the Judeo-Christian God, people who who believe in Buddha, Taoists, pagans, etc. There are a large number of agnostics here who are not thoroughly conviced, and are even less convinced with your religion's antics when you try and "dupe" people into believing in Christ. In fact, only 3 people on this board claim they are Satanist. And they're not theatrical Satanists either. They're LaVeyan. Out of a pool of about 1,000, I think that 0.3% part Satanist is not a reason to target a place called goth.net for "witnessing"

In case you're attempting this ploy of first asking about our interest in "darkness" on other gothic message boards, let me tell you right away that most goths are of above normal intelligence and we can see right through you. We're not interested in "darkness". We're interested in music, clothing, philosophy, politics, etc. Being interested in "darkness" is a vain pursuit usually kept to preteens and teenagers when they try and drift our way based on media misconceptions then move on to their next fad after a few months. A passing curiosity of the weak minded, honestly.

If you want discussion about gothic music, gothic fashions, humour, politics, art and media, then stay. If you want to present your religious arguements in terms of relativistic thought and also understand that we are well-adjusted human beings who like ourselves exactly as we are, then stay. However if your sole mission on coming here is to convert, condemn, and conceal your true intents toward us, then get out of here as quick as you can.

Hot damn BR! Good post.

By the way, why would a fundamentalist Christian site have a magician with lightning bolts coming from his fingers and wearing a Star of David on the opening page?!

And Godscareing (by the way, there's no "e" in either "caring" or "scaring")--I'm here because I like the sound of VNV Nation and Sisters of Mercy more than I do Black Flag, Creed, Eminem, or Billie Holliday. That's pretty much the main reason. So is Jesus gonna save me from my taste in music?

Okay, I am not saying this based on me being in the 0.3% that BloodRose mentioned, but also from a designer view, and know that I seldom give unconstructive critizism, but today I do:

That page S U C K E D

Who the hell hosts a .net server on a connection that seem to be able give nothing more that 1,5 -> 2kb/sec AND on those pages uses images that is close to a 100kb?

My advice: Seek professional help.

Maybe this message wasn't really professional either but I just had to get my "angry-feelings-of-the-day" out... Must be the booze and drugs leaving my veins that makes me cranky.

STFU!

Cool, I'm starting to feel a little more welcome. Thanx. I am not here to argue, complain, bitch-slap, condenm, or convert anyone. Also, I am not seeking your acceptance here. Don't care. However, I do accept everyone freely and I don't think my question was too deep either.

As for God, yes I am a believer...so what. You are far too defensful BR. Don't worry little heart, DaDa still loves you, only learn to treat visitors with a little more respect. I shouldn't have to defend myself first thread just because you have insecurity problems. Or maybe everyone gets this treatment when they don't add up here. [correcting my spelling, etc.] Whatever.

Paint me the way you want BR, I dress goth myself, am the singer and guitarist for Godscare. Answering the question about God and music......go listen to our tunes. Even if you think they suck....they're not worship thats for sure.

So chill......I have my world veiw, you have yours, but bicker not little flock, I come in peace.

I am Godscareing................whatchafraidof?

You never know....maybe Jesus was a thrasher. Or he could have been way into Klezmer. :b

You know, being patronising about religion to someone who doesn't believe in your god is bad enough, but you look even more silly when you do it to someone who actually does believe.

But you should have to defend yourself over the fact that you didn't read AT ALL what section you were posting in (the section you posted in was relating to the GN site and it's site, services etc.).

Being patronising is definitely not the way to go around here.
