I was haunting this place a bit, but I finally decided to join
I found you guys while trying to find a decent topic at school for a research project (since the teacher refused to let me do one about a serial killer)
What got me interested in this place is I have been in love with vampires since I was 6, and it has only grown over the years, which lead me into the gothic subculture. I just always found it to be beautiful, the dress, music, people, darkness, everything.
I'm sure I'll be sticking around

hey all...
I'm new to the whole goth scene and loving most of it more everyday. I'm from the Hampton Roads area of Va, 25 and recently seperated!!! I listen to anything really, love anything dealing with computers, cars and stereo equipment. I have a 2 1/2 yr old son, who is my world.
I hope I get to talk with a bunch of you on here sometime...

Well hello there, i joined a while ago but decided to actually post something. I'm suzzy, i'm 15 and i live kinda near London. I'm interested in pretty much anything really, but i'm a bit of a movie geek and i love reading, especially authors like Neil Gaiman, Poppy Z. Brite, Orwell, Douglas Adams etc. I love music, my favourite bands being The Cure, Muse, NIN, Placebo, Rachel Stamp, My Ruin, but i'm willinging to give anything a listen as long as it isn't manufactured boyband shite #( I'm currently still at school, where i spend most of my time day dreaming and drawing 'freaky' (as my friends call them) pictures. I also like trees. And cheese.
I'm shy, so please be nice

Aah, I remember when I was new. Those were the days...
Thank goodness I never got any of the "Welcome to the Board Initiation Torture" done on me.

I read about someone who supposedly read the whole forum to get an idea of what people are likearound here. I did the same so I hope not to make any anti-friends on this website. I am in college. I am studying sociology. I enjoy sci-fi, video games and reading. Well, there you have it.
PS you can call me a newbie but please dont fist me.

Yet another newbie.
Hello all. Might as well get my newbie hazing over with. I haven't been a newbie on a message board in quite some time so forgive me for my newbieness
I'm 27 and I live just outside of Dallas, TX (I hate it-fyi). I primarily keep to myself at times so I have not met any Goth's. I plan to change that this year. Maybe I'll get out and find some locals to consort with, but don't hold me to that . I'm currently stuck working in corporate america in an IT department, however, I go to school at night and plan to move into the medical field when I graduate. I'm currently married with no kids.

You should try checking out The Church. It's a club on Sunday nights, and probably the most attended in that city from what I know.

It's as simple as you have not experienced REAL punk. For a metal fan like yourself, look into a band called Crass, they're good modern punk. But for some really good stuff, look at the late seventies and early eighties material. And trust me, none of it is that 'boo hoo hoo, my girlfriend dumped me and I'm really really hurt' bull crap. Trust me.

Hi, I'm new here...I think I'm at the verge of being goth. the only problems are : my parents. They buy all my stuff, so I get all these (as I call them) preppy clothes. However, many friends of mine are goth, and I BELIEVE I am mostly goth (and yet, part punk at times)...but, hey! let's se how it goes.

well, getting a job fixes the parents buying clothes thing pretty darn quick. Just a suggestion. And it doesn't really matter what clothes you wear around here, it matters more what music you listen to.

I am a 22 year old university student in BC, and I have only just recently been getting into the scene. The goth scene in this small city are: my roomate, and I am pretty sure those 2 people we saw walking down the street were goth.
So here I am. checking out what others are up to in other lands. Besides I needed another excuse to get away from homework and job searching.
