I've heard that may have to evacuate large cities, but that was a rumor that I heard on the news. So I'm not sure of that.

It very much seems as though you are attempting to lure me into one of your debates. I do respect your opinion and do understand that you are likely speak out in situations where you see fit, the issue is not your view, or who is right or wrong, we just cannot do this publicly as it can go on for days or even weeks. So, as I said, right or wrong, whatever you believe, talk to me in PM or heck, if you want to debate over a mic conversation I will.

This isn't a debate, because this isn't about opinions. You stated factual inaccuracies, and I corrected them. There are no absolute correct and incorrect positions in a debate, which is why it's called "debating" and not "fact-checking"; opinions are subjective statements that can be neither proved not disproved with facts; facts are statements that are either true or assumed to be true and thus are subject to verification if the truth of the statement is questioned.

"I think The Who are the greatest band in the world" = opinion
"Pete Townshend is a critically acclaimed song-writer" = fact
"In my opinion, Pete Townshend is a critically acclaimed songwriter" = does not understand the differences between opinion and fact.

You stated things about Japanese culture that can easily be proved either incorrect or highly misunderstood. This is not a matter of opinion or debate; this is a matter of whether or not the facts you stated were incorrect, and they were.

Now, you're still welcome to your opinion of disliking Japanese culture, for whatever reasons --but if you are going to quantify that opinion with statements you present as factual, make sure that they are true facts.

I haven't been watching your posts, though I have no doubt that you are willing to debate with others easily as I believe you enjoy doing so.

Whether or not I enjoy "debating" others is not relevant here. Anybody else could have corrected you to the degree that I did, and I just happened to do it first. The fact of the matter is, you're the only other factor in that single example, which you apparently dwell on, of a thread I'd been involved in being closed due to clear interpersonal tensions. Ask yourself why that may be.

You seem to have issues with being corrected that other people do not possess --or, at the very least, can keep in check in public situations. I'm not always correct, either, and whether or not you believe it, I get my own share of factual corrections thrown at me on-line --but I don't blame the fact-checker for whether or not I can handle being corrected.

and hey, I did go to a Catholic school.

But you didn't go to the same one I did --which is what I actually said.

Facts, opinions, whatever the argument, debate, discussion is. At this point I have no interest in discussing these things in this thread. I do, however, have an interest in having this conversation with you through private messages. So please do send me a private message.

Must be very stressful for the people living there. I wonder if there are any individuals who have fortified their homes to protect them from the radiation.

I know many people lost thousands of dollars from the whole radiation spill. One farmer had to agree not to sell his cows because they were contaminated, the man said it cos him most of his livelyhood.
I cannot imagin how stressful it is. My Japanese exchange student lived in a town that was destroyed, I paniced when I found out. But thankfully she was fine.

That would bother me wondering how many radiated animals and how much radiated food is being sold. I'd be one of those people who would buy a Geiger counter and measures my property with it everyday to make sure dangerious levels of radiation aren't affecting me.

I eat all organic and get my food from a farm directly so I don't really worry about that. But for thoers that would be a good inverstement.

I do enjoy organic food myself- when convenient.

I quite like the Japanese gothy post-punk deathrock scene. Plenty of darkness to be had there, haha. Clothing and make-up is pretty inspiring and helpful too, considering I'm Asian. Not too into the visual kei scene (which for the most part looks like what you call "punk rave") that often gets mistaken as part of the goth scene. A lot of it looks really costumy, in a bad way. From what I've seen, Japanese goths don't consider lolitas as automatically part of their tribe so while I like some of the clothing, I don't really consider it... goth.

I hadn't known there was another kind other than the punk rave and lolita styles. I always thought of the goth and punk styles as looking costumy seeing as a lot of us look like vampires or someone from a movie somewhere.

There's a lot of Japanese street style subsets. A lot of communities on LiveJournal are dedicated to them. I said visual kei/Punk Rave(which is apparently a clothing brand and not a fashion tribe) is costumy because it is a costume. Visual kei bands wear costumes on stage and once they're popular enough, they usually drop the schtick (see L'arc~en~ciel and Dir en grey). It's a lot more inspired by glam rock than goth or punk. A lot of them dress as gyaru-o or in host fashion in real life. The clothing in Google Images is just mimicking the styles for which Sex Pot Revenge/h.NAOTO/Black Peace Now are known.

I love gothic lolita, but it's too high maintenance and expensive for me to actually wear.

I like a lot of it, but some of it comes off as a little flat to me, I personally appeal to a more deathrock/romantic...nut personally a little Asian influence is always a plus for me....but not too much...yet some ladies poo ill off full on lolita quite well...(so, what exactly is your dressing style I'm curious to know a usual outfit for you on a daily basis...)but yeah, to answer the question I think a little is great but too much is just flat...

I don't like the street styles that are so popular in Japan. There's nothing that associates it with Goth music and that kills it, for me.

One thing that stands out for me is all the variations of a dress shirt and ties they have. I could see my self wearing something like this: http://punkrave.en.alibaba.com/product/ ... othic.html

Only problem I would have is finding things that fit. I'm 6 foot 2 and I'm a lanky bastard. I'm all arms and legs. It can be hard to find things that fit even here in the states.
