Post Re: Health and Fitness
I've been doing pretty well to maintain my weight since hitting my goal. Even the cruise a few months ago didn't derail me. I worked out all but a couple of days on the ship. There is still some toning I'd like to do, and hoping to get back in full force at the gym next week. Life has been crazy, and I haven't been going as much as I'd like to. However, I've still been eating healthy, and fairly clean.

I'm still trying to get used to my body like this...even after several months. It seems so foreign to me to buy things in a small, when I spent so many years wearing an extra-large! A comfy sweatshirt is now a medium instead of a XXL! I have piles of clothes that I've cleaned out of my closet that need to go to consignment and charity. It just still feels so strange. :)

I'm happy for you Bfly. :)

I went out for a walk today even though my leg has still been bothering me a bit. I've noticed that it hurts less after I've been using it so yeah, a nice 30 minute walk was nice. Although going out in all in black was probably not the brightest thing I've done as it was pretty warm out (61 Fahrenheit? Yeah, seemed warmer than that). But still, I had a good time.

I don't try too hard with my health and fitness, I just do what I've done since high school.

I eat two fruit & veggie smoothies a day for breakfast & lunch that I blend myself. Usually some mixture of strawberries, blue berries, raspberries, carrots, apples and pears. With a tiny bit of honey and ice, and greek yogurt to add something to it.

I eat a few small snacks throughout the day, tiny cut up pieces of watermelon I cut myself, for example. Sometimes it's apple slices with peanut butter. Or some granola and yogurt.

Then I usually make some dish for myself in the evening, like tonight it's meatless tacos with tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, corn, little bit of rice & faux cheese. With a small side of chips and salsa, I'll usually eat those right before I make the main dish as a last snack of the day. I'll likely make enough, in this case of the tacos, to have left-overs for the next day or maybe two days, depending on how much I make.

Exercise, I ride my bike for at least twenty miles, I like to do more if I have the time, and I do some basic cardio and some basic weight lifting.

I like to do the jogging/running thing, usually for an hour or more hitting the pavement. My goal is to get under 200 & maintain that.

When I'm not strength training 5-6 days a week, usually try to squeeze in a day where I take a walk for 2-7 hours starting early morning to the evening. I enjoy taking my walks as I don't like to run and having some company is the best. My childhood friend (best friend) and my uncle usually accompany me on my walks. Though my uncle got diagnosis and is more immature and quite hyperactive I have learnt to tolerate him and find his company to brighten my mood. My best friend live up to his nickname ''the zombie'' as he may seem apathetic and distant, so we usually take silent walks until he hits a wall or something (b.t.w that was a joke).

Who enjoys energy drinks while being outdoors? Like monster, burn, x-ray and all that stuff. They are usually most sugar so I take one if I need refreshment and I don't drink ''sodas'' that meaning I swore never to drink coca cola, fanta, pepsi and similar brands. I can drink carbonated water and alcoholic beverages.

Energy drinks aren't very healthy...I think you'd be better drinking the soda, lol! Ever since I drank two Rockstars in a night to write a paper I had due the next morning and then literally could not sleep (I absolutely could not keep still), I've sworn off that crap. I do drink a decent deal of diet sodas though (at least I'm not getting tons of extra calories and sugar).

I officially weigh less now than when I started high school! (okay, not by much...like a pound...but still) It's weird because I never thought I looked too much different when I was a good 30-35 pounds heavier, but a lot of my clothes that were tight then don't really fit me anymore, hahaha. It seems running that marathon may have provided some massive reboot button for my metabolism or something.

To Rogoth:

Yes energy drinks are bad for the health. Sodas contain mostly sugar and energy drinks should only be used when the body necessarily need a kick, they got minerals and other substances that feel like a 'caffeine rush'. I don't drink that many and I am highly resistant to substances like alcohol, sugar, caffeine and isn't affected as much from consuming them of course that doesn't apply to calories and gaining weight.

My preferable drink would be milk, water and homemade juices. I like to be more healthy but I eat a lot of healthy food. I need about 4400 kcals every day and I workout 5-6 days a week a so called
four-day-split where I workout different muscle groups every day. My bodyweight is built on muscles and fat I weight 126 kilograms for the moment.

I'm starting to get my energy back! I'm able to clean house and walk to the mailbox again. I've also lost 4 lbs in the last week. Maybe I can start working back up to jogging again soon?

Started on 2 lb weights and walking on the treadmill. It's still exhausting, but much, much better!

I dislocated my knee two days ago. To make a long story short, I slipped in some liquid soap on the floor and landed awkwardly. I had to hop home on one leg, which is no easy feat when you're also carrying two bags of groceries.
So when I got home I took off my stockings to take a look at the damages before deciding if I should get help or not. This caused my knee to pop back in its place, which made me yell out some very colourful curse words. That's the most painful thing I have ever experienced.
I've been hopping around for two days now, since my knee feels very weak, and my leg gets stiff if I've been sitting or laying down for more than 15 minutes. I guess I'll have to let a doctor take a look at it.

This is the second time I've dislocated something in a month. Maybe I should just stay in bed. I obviously can't trust my bones to just stay where they should.

Alice, even reading that story made me cringe. I hope it's not as painful anymore, but it might be smart to go to the doctor (and maybe someone can drive you there). You might need a physiotherapy or a thight bandage.

Hopeless, good to read that you are getting your energy back. Be careful not to rush into activities, though. Better to build up slowly than to have a set back, I think.

Hopefully the both of you will feel 100% fit really soon!

I'm getting back into fitness things again after a little time away. I did two hours of cardio anf strength training yesterday so I'm in agony today! It's a good feeling though, weirdly. I got some Skechers Tone-Up shoes in T.K. Maxx so they've encouraged me to walk more.

So I just dislocated my jaw too. This actually hurts more than my knee. I can't even open my mouth. I will go to the doctor as soon as I can tomorrow. I've had enough of this.

Been able to take up my training again... after four months of frustration because I've not been allowed to. So after three days training I feel like a wombat that have been run over by a monster truck. Not one muscle is free from pain...and I who thought I stretched enough after the training pass. At least I feel alive for the first time this year. Great being on the road to a healthier and thinner life again, the goal is not that far away any more, even if I lost four months. -_-

Alice, I really hope things get better for you. Sounds like you're having a rough time right now.

My leg still hurts some and I'm supposed to have an MRI on Monday, but I think my leg is getting better slowly. May just be a pulled muscle though; my oncologist just wants to make sure it's not the steroids I'm on having a bad effect on me.

I'm feeling a lot better now. The swelling is gone, and the bruises aren't sore anymore. I can even go without painkillers, although I still can't walk without limbing. It doesn't hurt, I actually can't feel much other than some tinglng, but I suppose that's to be expected, with me insisting trying to walk with a dislocated knee. The doctor said it sounded like nerve damage.
I'll probably have to stop performing as a contortionist since my joints are acting up (doctors recommendation), but that's okay. Spandex doesn't really suit me anymore  and I better things to do this summer.
