We specialise in old-school goth, post-punk and ethereal from the 1970s to the present day. If you're looking for somewhere that plays VNV or Combichrist, we're not it, sorry. If Bauhaus, Siouxsie, Sisters are more your thing, you owe it to yourself to check us out!
...and if you need further convincing, the set list from Saturday is here. Proper goth and post-punk in what is possibly London's most atmospheric venue, what more could you want? Next night: Saturday 23rd June! 09iwpoai40w9i I really want to go to that. Too bad London is about 250 miles south of where I live, totally inconvenient. They should just hurry up and invent teleporting, what are the science people playing at?

Heh, we did actually have someone come down from Scotland (Edinburgh, I think) just to come to Invocation on Saturday I am also a resident DJ at Nostalgia (part of Whitby Gothic Weekend), which has a similar music policy and is also a great night - and a lot closer to home for you!

That's cool, I might attend there then. You'll probably see me there (but you won't know it's me, of course) at some point next month :p

Does anyone know any good markets or shops for a baby bat goth with a steampunk/Victorian interest and a goth metal/new school goth near or in Newcastle? I would really appreciate it if anyone could help! I'm really stuck!

I'm not sure if it's any good (as i live in Scotland and only know of good places in Glasgow and Bristol) but you could always try Phaze Clothing. To my knowledge though, most steampunk-styled things are generally DIY (and i'd love to make a fair few conversions in the future ), but i'm not sure about Victorian-styled stuff. If you do check it out and it's any good, though, please give me a nudge, because i'm always on the lookout for good shops! [:

I bought a pair of New Rocks from a site called Blacksails on the 5th and they've yet to even dispatch them :/ I emailed the address they gave in the automated email for asking questions, and it took about 2-3 days (until this morning, in fact) for the person behind it to reply telling me that they'll email me once UPS turns up and picks it up.. :3 And yes, you have proved very useful ^^ I hardly know any sites online where you can actually buy good stuff the only properly good place in Glasgow for goth stuff (a place called Hellfire) changed its stock to cater for Scene Kids more than anything else over the past few years, which is a bit of a kick in the teeth.

Ooh, nasty. That is a kick in the teeth! I was going to buy some new rock boots myself but I tried to save up but I spent the money on a pair of gloves(that I'm wearing right now) and some demonia shoes. I can't belive you haven't heard of alchemy before! My dad got me a alchemy gothic calendar that's really cool. You can get a cool goblet which is made of a skull! you can allways tell a good steampunk/gothic clothing site if it doesnt say "emo" clothing aswell as gothic. And have you got a pocket watch? I got a really nice copper one from Dracula clothing.

A pair of gloves that cost more than a pair of new rocks? Woah, where did you get them and what do they look/feel like? And I can believe it that i haven't heard of them, I'm still relatively new to the online-shopping game. :p I've never known where to get a pocket watch to get one :3 I'll have to check their site once I've got the next thing I plan to buy... A Focusrite Saffire so I can record guitars for use in my music (and thus complete my project for college...). Hehe, too true on the emo clothing part.

Yeah about the quotes. hah, cool! What is the project? Oh and what type of music are you making? I would love to know! The glove didn't cost more than the new rocks but they were like half the price and the equal price to the shoes. yeah they are fingerless and teach up to the elbow. They have six buckles going down the top but I don't know what they are made of but it's really comfy! I wear them all the time.

Re: UK Goths - Are you UK/British? chat here!
I really depends on when I manage to get a hardware interface to be honest :3 If I don't manage to get it within a month, then i'll have to stick with industrial since I only have the software for electronic music... But if I manage to get that hardware interface soon enough then i'll be able to use my guitar in the EP (: To be fair, I need to have vocals on it anyway, so I at least need to get the interface in order to record that. As for what genre I'll be doing it in if that's the case, though... I don't know. Probably something really random and quirky.
Those sound awesome ;o So.. wait.. i'm confused. Did they cost twice as much as the New Rocks to begin with but were half the price they should have been? Or were the boots the things that were half price, which made them the same as the gloves?

the project sounds amazing! peronaly I'm a goth metaler myself. I LOVE Motionless in white. The gloves were HALF the price of the boots and the other shoes were roughly the same price as the gloves. Do you understand now?
