It was physical faults. Meaning my looks. I know how to dress for interviews, how to put on natural looking makeup, and how to remove my piercings. Thy point out that i'm not pretty enough, or that I don't have a good enough smile and point out the fact that I have a gap in my front teeth. Or that I don't sound friendly enough, meaning that I don't have the accent. Oh! And don't forget the sexist jerks who think that I should "test my skills under the table" to get a job with them.

I've had two places say they would have no problem giving me a job if I sounded right and went blonde. The waitressing job applied for told me I was too tall! They didn't want me intimidating the men-folk. And all of this has happened in the last six months. It's getting downright depressing and I'm getting to where I almost don't want to put in any more applications.

I have a good resume! I've worked almost every job in retail, grocery, and apparel. From the bottom rung up to management. I've turned down one job because they wanted me to accept UNDER MINIMUM WAGE!!! $5.00 an hour for full time and on-call management? No. Way.

It's almost sickening.

I'm tired. Really tired. I'm so tired that my speech is slurred and my thoughts are slow. When I went to pick up a knife earlier, I took a fork instead, and for a couple of minutes I was just staring at that damn fork, until I finally realised that, no, that fork was not a knife.
So I've given up and now I'm just browsing the 'web.

You're wrong. It is not almost sickening, it IS sickening if you have to dye your hair blonde or should work for less than the minimum wage! Let alone the things you write about them discussing your physical "imperfections" or asking for a demonstration of your "under the table skills". They were FAR out of line discussing your "imperfections" (I'm assuming they are perfect looking models themselves?) or asking for said demonstration. And if you have any (written) proof of being rejected for reasons like hair colour or being asked to work for less than minimum wages, I would consider reporting them to the appropriate authorities if I were you.

I hope this was an April's fools joke and I just took the bait, since it is so outrageous what you are describing.
