 Goth mail call!
So I looked all over and I couldnt find any topic that match my idea so here it goes: I ordered a pair of boots a few days ago and I am squirming with excitment. Do you like ordering thing online or do you just not have the patience? Is there something in particular that you're waiting for? I didnt have the patients until there this one incident were i had to wait for a month and a half for a necklace and ever since then I keep thinking that there will be a package in the mail, is that weird? :/ anywho long story short I think Im addicted to online shopping (I guess waiting paid off because I have a hell of alot more patience now)

 Re: Goth mail call!
Living on the coast, I have to order ANYTHING gothy I want I even have to order foundation light enough for my natural skin, because down here we all burn ourselves to a crisp to get a tan I just had some make up arrive from Everyday Minerals that I ordered on the 19th of February. Their samples are tiny, it used to be 2 dollar samples that would last a while but now they're free and in silly little zip locks I'm hoping looks are decieving and the zip locks last me a while... Definitely impressed with their "Twilight Kiss", "Weeping Willow" and "Lip Lock" eye shadows. Tried a little bit on my hand today, so smooth I've definitely learnt the patience of shopping online and the risks associated, but I still won't buy shoes online! My feet are too weird, especially in comparison to m legs and knee high boots may be too loose or tight... I'm really fussy with how boots fit me up my shin. I never buy clothes online either, only makeup and accessories. The only clothing I've bought online was a steel boned corset because they're easier to fit to different body types. I'm definitely too fussy about how things fit me to buy clothes or shoes online

 Re: Goth mail call!
Since my impending nuptials are quickly approaching, I have been ordering a ton of stuff online.
The two really nail-biting purchases I've had lately are my beau's wedding ring (took almost two weeks to get here, but it came from Galway so I guess I could have been more patient) and the dress I am getting married in that showed up and had to go straight to the tailor.

There's something "fun" about the anticipation of waiting for a special "gothy" package to arrive in the mail. It gives one something different from the everyday to look forward to.

Im right there with you on that one, I use to be really impatient but now I kind of get excited when I know my Gothy things are arriving. the anticipation is fun then when the package finally arrives I blow up from happiness

 Re: Goth mail call!
I got a pair of boots I'd ordered today. Sadly, I'd misread the site. They had been listed by US sizes instead of UK. Results: wonderful boots two sizes too small. I'd purchased them through a seller on Amazon, so no returns, yay. Now to try to recoup through Ebay.
I know what you mean about anticipation though. If there was some kind of gothy surprise package swap site I'd be all over that.

 Re: Goth mail call!
Not sure if anyone here has heard of tumblr.com, but over 60 other goths and I that frequent the site arranged a "goth treasure swap" where we got assigned partners and sent each other all sorts of lovely little spooky things, often handmade. It was a great experience and something I hope we'll get to do again. I wish something like that could be arranged here but with so many people it'd probably take forever.

Personally I prefer ebay because they offer a WAY bigger selection for anything you want to buy, that and its a hell of a lot cheaper (depending on what you're looking for of course) Sorry about your boots , the same thing happened to me with these Creepers i ordered. They were Demonia so some people have to go a size up and since I had previously bought Demonia shoes without sizeing up I figured I didnt have to with these... You get where Im going with this. Anyway the good thing is I got my money back and now Im waiting for some 'gothy' jewlery and books to arrive

My only concern would be not having anything suitably treasure-y and handmade to swap. Maybe a trinket swap would be more my speed. Oh, and it turns out I can return my boots after all. Yay.

 Re: Goth mail call!
HopelessRomantic, tumblr.com is simply a blog site, although the format is rather like twitter but with mostly photos instead of tweets. It's easy and free to start a blog there, I've been running one for a while now and really enjoy it, after trying other blog sites and not liking them at all. I found most of the other goth bloggers on there just by searching for tags like "gothic", "dark", "halloween", etc. and following the people who post mostly things tagged as such. Many of them are very friendly and happy to talk You can search the tag "goth tumblr treasure swap" if you want to see photos and posts on the event!

 Re: Goth mail call!
Sorry Theda, I was hoping for a link to the group on Tumblr. I have an account. I just don't use it very often.

 Re: Goth mail call!
Sorry if I confused you, it actually isn't a "group" that you can just follow in one click, it's a group of individuals I follow on Tumblr if that makes any sense. If you go to my tumblr here: http://airshipfortwo.tumblr.com, you can view my blog and on the right side there should be a little cloud of avatars of all the people I follow. Many are fellow goth bloggers.

 Re: Goth mail call!
I order tons of stuff online. I am hesitant on most clothes though because of not knowing what size to get. T-shirts are easy enough, but I have mucked up on shoes several times (typically getting a size too big). If I am certain of my size, then I'll order it. I also have Amazon Prime (since I'm a student)...yet oddly I haven't really bought anything since signing up for it. Trying to save up money for a new desktop, a kitty cat, Diablo III, and Guild Wars 2. Odd priorities, I know. hehehe
