Re: Bagelheads - how far is too far?
Fairy, true enough. There are plenty of things that other people do in life that aren't harming themselves or others. I may think those things are gross or cross a line, but I just shrug and say "whatever". More people need to do that. Insecurity is a very ugly thing.

Looks like they've got cancerous growths or something. Whatever though - their life, their rules.

Re: Bagelheads - how far is too far?
Yeah. It's their bodies, so whatever.... .... but I'm still going to say that most of those are totally gross. XP Now, some of them - the smaller ones anyway - look a lot like scarification, the most well known examples coming out of Africa, which I'll admit intrigues me enough to say that scarification is cool (albeit the process does have its risks). But who the funk wants something that looks like malignant tumor growing out of their forehead, I wonder? (Well, obviously these people, but you just gotta ask yourself that. ) I dunno. I know that these were inspired by oni masks, but - ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Somethings just shouldn't be seen in three dimensions (or in living flesh). That, and are they hard-like or pimple-squishy-like? Either texture will make head-to-head kissing contact.... awkward. It kinda makes me want to go up to one of them and touch them....... nah.

I say go all the way. Turn that knob to 11; society tends towards a norm (whatever that is de jour) so creep em' out and stretch some minds.

I'm just glad I never had kids... I can't imagine the pleasure that is dealing with offspring who want to try this stuff. O_o

Maybe it's my lingering attraction to Warf on Star trek, but I kind of like it. I always thought brow ridges were interesting prosthetics on tv and in movies, and saline injections like this aren't super permanent are they? I kind of like how it changes the bone structure and changes where the eye is directed on the face.

If somebody used this to say, I dunno, make them look like a Ferengi, then I'd say, "you're a moron trekkie like my older brother. We can be friends."

Re: Bagelheads - how far is too far?
Hmm. It may be non-permanent, but if you're having it done repeatedly, it'll stretch the skin and leave wrinkles. I don't fancy bagel-shaped creases on my forehead! Otherwise I guess it's like any body modification - I wouldn't want it, I wouldn't want to date someone with it, but if a consenting adult really wants it then fine. At some point along the line someone's going to get an infection and end up scarred - even if the needle is sterile, the skin isn't, and the way the fluid settles in the tissue leaves it prone to bacterial colonisation. Carpathian Dark Princess wrote: That, and are they hard-like or pimple-squishy-like? . From the way it's infused, and the thumbprint, I'm guessing it's pitting oedema. So, kind of firm like pressing the tip of your nose, but it sinks in and you can leave prints in it that take a few minutes to level out - like a firmer version of a stressball. OK, now I quite want it done just to play with it...
