 Meat!
As many of you know I have been a vegetarian for about 5 years and my SO has been a veg-head for 11. Well, my SO has decided that he would like to transition back to eating meat. I may or may not also go back to eating meat, but I would absolutely have to make sure that I do it in as compassionate a way as possible. I'm still up in the air about the idea. That being said (and inspired by ittybittybat's post about cheese) - what meaty treats do you like? When I still ate meat I was a big fan of cured Italian meats like salumi and proscuitto. I wasn't a big fan of chicken, but I was also a pro steak griller. How about you?

 Re: Meat!
I love a bloody rare steak, buffalo wings, a well-marinated flank steak, shellfish are my favourite sea animals to devour, and I am thinking about how to perfect the *ultimate* meat salad. Chicken, shrimp, and beef. Pork would make an appearance, but I don't favour it much. The "dressing" will be either barbeque sauce or Frank's Red Hot.

 Re: Meat!
Doesn't matter. As long as you add barbecue sauce everything is divine.
Deep frying works to. Except when the Cajuns do it.

 Re: Meat!
After seven months as a vegan and I think an additional three months as a vegetarian, I sadly admit that I have succumbed to the dark side and am now once again an omnivore. Especially after discovering that being vegan didn't do a damn thing to lower my cholesterol. My favorite meat is seafood – sushi, oysters, crabmeat, mmm...! After seafood, it's roast chicken. I would like to learn more about compassionate meat, because I do like animals for more than just food. -- Nephele

 Re: Meat!
Venison (made from deer) is one of my favorite foods. Just grill it for a bit and throw on some spices. The more tender the meat is, the better. But that last statement is just personal preference.
I love mixing chicken with broccoli and pouring melted cheese on top of it. I'm a broccoli addict, and if you cook the broccoli just right it adds a little crunch and texture to the meal.
I've never been fond of most seafood; I loathe the texture. I can (and do!) eat tuna every day, though. I can eat sushi and sashimi every so often, but I have to be craving it. I hate anything that's pig-based, with the exception of bacon.

Oh god Bambi! Sooooo tasty. The best part is, there are so many different species of deer and they all taste different!

 Re: Meat!
Fish and chicken make up my meat diet. Chicken with onions, pan fried and served on rice, Baked salmon and broccoli and chicken yakisoba are all delicious.

 Re: Meat!
Meat...I love meat. Where to start? My favorite is beef, favorite cut is flat-iron steak, marinated and grilled, medium rare. My second favorite "meat" is boiled lobster. It's a lot of work, but that's half the fun of it.
I am constantly saying that I would be the world's worst vegetarian, and hubby would be the second-worst.

 Re: Meat!
My weak spot is fried chicken and medium rare steak. I also love Turkey and sometimes ham. I've tried Gator Tail too, and it's not really that bad. Venison was good the few times I've had it. My top three types of meat which I love to eat in a variety of ways are: Chicken, Beef, and Turkey.

 Re: Meat!
Top sirloin, medium rare so that it doesn't need sauce. Bacon wrapped in bacon covered in bacon, served on a platter of bacon. Burnt ends from a well-cooked brisket. Pork & venison sausage in red beans and rice.

 Re: Meat!
I'm not a hardcore vegetarian, in that I eat a lot of meat, but thats only because I like the taste! So morally, I win!I can't stand seafood, I have a very small appetite, and I find meat too filling, but I do like the taste.
