 Immaculate Death

Post Immaculate Death
I wrote an original version of this, I do not know if I should call it a poem or merely a 1-2 page story... But anyhow, I shall put the original I then tried to put it in a more poetic form, and I shall post that here as well. (This was inspired by another piece of writing). I personally think the original is better, but your honest opinions and constructive critisism are muchly appreciated!
Original:
The last thought I will fathom, the last vision I will see before the blackness- It is the dim candlelight, soft, oh-so soft, that everything within my view appears as if an outline. My eyelids will flutter gently closed, the darkness seeping through them, succumbing to the tempting lure of Death. My mortality will then be eradicated, all life dominished.
My body will be placed in a coffin, into an old-fashioned hearse it will go. It will be driven to the morgue in preparation for my funeral.
I will subsequently be taken to the funeral home, where all those I knew in life will be dress in black, mourning. They will play the saddest of songs as lament. This shall cause many more tears.
I will be buried in the darkest depths of the cemetery, underneath the weeping willows. They will come visit me, throw black roses and amaranth on my tombstone. Then the crows shall come, rest on my grave.
Ah, the mere thought of its beauty is nearly fathomless. But alas, is this what Death shall be like? So elegant, so surreal?
POEM:

The last thought I shall fathom
The last thing I shall see
Will be the flickering candle, oh-so dim
An outline everything will appear to be

My eyelids shall flutter closed
Succumbing to the depths of night
Death will gently consume
Leaving but no more light

I shall be placed in a coffin
Driven in a hearse
Loved ones shall be mourning
Claiming their lives could not get any worse

And eulogies they will be speaking
They've known me for so many years
Alas, my corpse is lifeless
This shall bring many more tears

I shall be buried in the graveyard
In the darkest depths way back
Underneath the weeping willows
Where the sun shall lack

They shall throw many amaranth
Along will come the crow
Wiping their tear-stained faces
Bidding farewell to the soul they'd known

But, alas, will Death be so elegant?
This eerie allure will I feel?
Shall it be so morbidly beautiful?
Shall it be so surreal?

That was pretty good! Nice job man! Although it made me feel depressed, it was well put together and conjured a perfect picture in my head. 8)

The title of this very romantic poem with a philosophical clue at the end is ingenous. Congratulation BlackFeather this is one of the best poems of this genre I have ever read, as far as I can judge it, because I'm not a native speaker. I've learned a lot of lyric expressions I've never heard before.

Die Stille herrscht am Grab und selbst die Eulen schweigen.
Ein Traum zerbricht ...
