Mischief is obviously our most social weasel, she seems to find her way into almost every picture of "cute" things happening. Squish and Mayhem are sadly no longer with us... but there are many fond memories to keep them with us.

Eeeeeeeeee! They're so stinkin' CUTE! *barf hearts*

Sleepless, love the ferrets! And what perfect ferrety names you've chosen for them!

So cute! My mom's sugar glider was named Oona(after the fairy in Legend). If you put her on your open palm in front of a fan on high, she would spread her limbs and extend that membrane like sh was flying. So cute.

Sleepless, your ferrets are adorable! Unfortunately the one I had would only bond with me and was a biter. He couldn't be out of his cage unless I was around.

I miss having pets.

Yes, this can be the case... especially if you only have one. A single ferret is Very high maintenance and difficult to train / tame. They are strange that way, as in the wild they are a solitary critter, but get them fixed and put them together in a cage... they become pair-bonded very quickly.

Nipping isn't really a problem too much with ours, but the young ones will do it when they get really excited... Nipping is kind of like litter training them... It's easy to get them 96% of the way there... but there will always be a 4% chance they will do whatever they want, when they want... :P excitable little creatures they are...

My dog making friends with the neighbours little "Cookie".
The neighbours were worried about Jules hurting her because he's so much bigger, but five minutes after this photo, Cookie yapped at him, and he came running to hide behind me with a worried look on his face :P
He'll never make a good guard dog ;)

I was strolling in Manhattan today, and I came upon Ian Danic and his marvelous macaws, Spencer and Tucker, having lunch outside the Chat 'n' Chew on 16th Street. Here's a pic of them:

Spencer, Tucker, and Ian

That's a plateful of macaroni and cheese that Ian is feeding to Spencer and Tucker. I learned today that macaws are omnivores -- Spencer and Tucker also eat chicken.

Both of these beautiful birds were rescued by Ian. Spencer is 21 years old, and Tucker is a youngster of 6.

You never know what surprises you might find in New York!

My flatmates have some rescued macaws, but a smaller species. It did not take them long to learn my name, but only so that they can shout it whenever I am having something they want [Marconi, french fries, and pizza are their favorites]. We didn't train them to do this, I was just eating dinner one night when I was alone in the apartment and one of them just started shouting for me.

When we had got them it was right after they were discovered alone in a house with the corpse of their prior owner, and suffered from some pretty extreme depression, possibly even ptsd. Wouldn't talk, wouldn't eat anything but bird seed [which really isn't what they should be eating as their entire diet], kept plucking all their feathers off.

As an animal lover, this thread needs to be more active!

I can't wait to get some good pics of my beasties. I have two cats and one that I creamated myself (he was my baby!).

Does taxidermy count as a pet?

Double post! Sorry!

Here's the beasties.

Daxx - We rescued him from a shelter. He was my Valentines Day gift from my guy. <3
Daxx & Pooper Pooper's such a brat cat!

Pooper isn't very photogenic. I either get pictures of him looking angry or of his little cat @ss. :? Daxx, on the other hand loves to dress up and get his picture taken.

I use to have about 6 pets but they either died or ran away. A sign maybe? :?
