 Nail polish.
Well, we have a topic on lipstick, and I can't find any other topic on nail polish, so here goes.... I'm something of a nail polish addict, I have it in every colour of the rainbow, and then some. I use it to add colour to my outfits, and I very rarely wear just one colour, I usually do two in an alternating pattern. At the moment that's metallic red and dark metallic purple (Salsa and Damson dream by No7, who are one of my favourite brands for nail polish, because they do the lovely jewel tones to perfection). I'd also like to ask your opinion on matte nail polish. At first I thought it would look weird, then I got my hands on Emerald city and Ruby ribbon by Revlon, and fell in love. So, there we are.

 Re: Nail polish.
I've owned a couple of matte polishes a while back and didn't like the finish. I prefer either dark or neon colored nail polish. The only colors I currently have are purple, black and a dark gray glitter that I layer over the black.
I prefer glossy polish and topcoats. I won't have much of a chance to wear it soon, though with nursing classes.

i love nail polish. i have all sorts of colours, but my favorite one is definitely gray. <3 i've used a matte nail polish (can't remember what brand it was) and i wasn't very pleased with the results. i'll try those by revlon now.

 Re: Nail polish.
I have a red, and orange, a green glitter and black (of course). I like the really bright colors on my toes. Right now I have a french manicure going on, but once the nail starts to grow out I will most likely paint it red since that's my favorite color for hands. Like Wolfie, I like a glossy finish. To me it looks clean and, well, polished. And I have no preference for brand. I try to steer clear of the cheapos that are essentially marketed to kids since they chip off faster, but with a good clear coat on top I find my polish can last a lot longer. ~spidey

 Re: Nail polish.
I'm on and off with nail polish; I love the colors I can choose from, but I get so sick of it chipping(even when I get the so-called no-chip kind). Ironically, I wear black the least(I don't have the patience put on so many coats to get that perfect black). Right now, I'm just wearing clear nail polish. I like to at least have my nails looking healthy until I decide on my next color.

I've got a batch of different colors (although a bunch are dry and need replacing). Right now my nails are shiny purple. I also have royal blue, turquoise blue, turquoise/green, dark red, iridescent green, dark pink, black, iridescent silver, iridescent pink, and metallic gunmetal grey. Sometimes I layer one of the iridescents over a solid.

 Re: Nail polish.
I've used gunmetal metallic as a base and layered translucent iridescent green, blue, and pink over it. The result looked like black pearls.

 Re: Nail polish.
I have 2 colors, midnight blue, and black
and also a clear polish
I don't wear them often, because as soon as they are dry, they are chipped, and usually I have messed up the nail polish before it's dry anyway.

 Re: Nail polish.
I own too many nail polishes. Black, pink, purple, blue, green, clear, white, silver ... It's stupid since I always ends up removing the funky colours since I prefer black. I really don't like too much colour. Everything has to match perfectly.
I just bought a new polish that cracks while it dries. It looks good with a bright colour underneath, so there's still hope.

 Re: Nail polish.
I prefer glossier nail polishes, personally, although I can't say I've used many matte versions. I bit my nails for years, kicking the habit a year or two ago, and I refuse to paint my nails unless they are even with my fingertips. As a result, my nail polish collection is rather dismal. I currently have all Revlon polishes, in black, a kind of fire engine red and a shade of red slightly lighter than "blood" red. I'd list names, but I'm too lazy to go get them from the bathroom.

 Re: Nail polish.
What is all this talk about matte nail polishes? I had no idea those even existed.

I have a few different shades of purple and lots of dark versions of colours, as well as my trademark black.

 Re: Nail polish.
Gotta love Halloween. Just picked up a NEON orange color from Sinful Colors. It's called Summer Peach if you're interested. My nails are literally too bright to look at!
