My case (Thermaltake Armor +) is steel, plastic, and acrylic; it's durable, roomy, and has good circulation. Though I had to bend the metal inside the case to get the automatic fan controller in the front of my case. I might get this case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811133188 because of it's versatility. I love SSD drives, and yeah they blow my hard drive out the water regarding speed, and mine goes up to 10,000 RPMs. The prices are coming down on them, and I'm waiting just a bit longer until the prices get where I want them then I'll snag one This is my case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811148001 I love it! I'm still trying to decide if I want an Nvidia Geforce GTX 580 video card or a 256 gig SSD for my next upgrade...

Since we're talking cases, this is mine. Not as fancy as some of the others but still a great case. Of course, it has stuff inside of it, having the large heat sink with the two fans 12oMM fans on it and having the three blue LED 120MM fans on it make it looks much cooler. Plus, I have a small skeleton towel and a stuffed rat (not a real one of course) sitting on top of it. This may or may not make it look tacky, but meh

Regarding whether or not you should get a GPU or a SSD, I would recommend the graphics card, because 256 gig isn't going to feel like it isn't enough space to install your games. I have a 300 gig VelociRaptor hard drive, and I feel very limited since I want to install and play a wide range of games despite how quick it is. If you play only a few games then I would recommend the SSD. But the prices on those drives are going down, so I would wait till the price of SSDs come down then get one that has a higher capacity. If you want something that has more space and is faster than a typical hard drive I'd get the 600gb VelociRaptor drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822136554 since they only run around $270.00. It may be more expensive than your SSD, but you'll likely be content with having the best of both worlds. And with the money left over you can either buy a solid GPU, or add that money to your next paycheck and buy an incredible GPU . ..Or you can buy a SSD and get a 1TB hard drive CallaWolf wrote: Since we're talking cases, this is mine. Right now I have a kleenex box on top of my case lol. I might have to change the heat sink if it isn't compatible with the socket 2011 MB I'm going to purchase later this year.

The SSD drive I am currently looking at is around $450. So is the video card. There is only one video card stronger than the one I'm looking at (I want the Nvidia GTX 580). The GTX 590 is dual core, but both have 3 gigs of VRAM!

I'm looking at Newegg, and I'm seeing all the 590s are out of stock. Hopefully it won't be when I'm ready to buy another GPU in a few weeks. How much RAM do you have?

Re: What kind of comp do you use?
I'd love to have the GTX 580! hehehe I have 2.5 gigs main ram. I'd like to up that to 4 gigs (I think that's as high as the motherboard will go, will have to check) and then have 3 gigs on the vid card. I'm prolly not gonna buy another hard drive until I can get a higher capacity SSD. I currently have a 400 gig Western Digital with about 130 gigs free and a 500 gig Western Digital external with like 60 gigs free.

I'd definitely get some new RAM, since they're going cheap right now; I'm assuming you're using DDR2 RAM? I got my 8 gigs worth of DDR2 RAM for the low $200s, and that was last year. I envy the hard drive space, since I only have 32 gigs free Oh, you're using AMD right?

Re: What kind of comp do you use?
My girlfriend's WoW install is almost bigger than 32 gigs hehehehe I have DDR400. I can get 2 gigs of it for like $50. My main board may be able to handle 8, but Im not sure. Yeah, I've been running AMD since 2006, good stuff.

Yeah, I've been running AMD since 2006, good stuff. I love the backwards compatibility AMD brings to the table, I also like the fact they don't have 435653675 sockets like Intel does. I'm seriously considering AMD because of that. In fact, I already have a AMD socket AM3+ build in mind that'll run me about $600-700. It's good to know that if I need to upgrade my CPU I don't have to buy a new motherboard every time. Though I'll still go for Nvidia GPU wise.

Re: What kind of comp do you use?
I don't about things such as sockets and what not, I'm not that advanced, though I know the basics to the point that if there comes a point where my PC is giving issues or about to take over the world, I can at least narrow down the problem. And if I still can't figure it out, at least I have narrowed it down to the point where I can hand it off to a family member who can fix it easily based off what I did and what I saw. And as for things such as AMD, Nvidia and the like, I'm an AMD person. My current machine is an AMD system with Asus manufacturing (Asus board, monitor, and even my ATI Video Card). I'm loving it, where as I felt like I was lost with Nvidia. I actually built this machine for about $900 in late 2009, and it can still compete with modern machines, thankfully. I probably won't even think about upgrading for another three or four years to be honest. And as for my storage memory, I got a list here, but lets just sau I have enough to last me for a while

My computer is all set to take over the world so be warned.

I'll be glad to explain sockets. All it means is that it's able to hold a certain type of CPU. What type of CPU it holds is based on the amount of pins on the CPU itself (the gold dots on the bottom of the CPU). Some CPU's wont go in other types of motherboards because of this. CallaWolf wrote: I actually built this machine for about $900 in late 2009, and it can still compete with modern machines, thankfully. I have the max amount of RAM my computer can take, and while it runs some programs fine, it won't be long until it'll make it's age apparent. zoldos wrote: I'm still running a socket 939 FX60 dual core.
