Mithos is a video game character from Tales of Symphonia. He's the Antagonist for the game. I have been using him in Roleplays for over 6 years now. He's Cruxis Angel. Look up "Mithos Yggdrasil" He's my hero. He's also a Half-Elf.

So I just used my real name, Which is Zora. Umm, if there were two 'R's instead of just one, it' be the Spanish word for a female slut T_T and my last name means "Of the angels" So my full name is "Slut of the angels. I find that interesting :p

-Edit-

I just checked to see if what my friend told me was accurate. And it is T_T. But it literlly means "Female fox" but is a slang term for slut.

So you gotta love my parents and how they named me :D

"Vixen" means a slightly different thing than slut in English. It sort of has the same connotations of being fond of sex, but there's also the implication that the Vixen is good at it.

In many central and eastern European countries (the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Bulgaria, etc.), the feminine name "Zora" means "dawn." Rhymes with "Aurora" (which also means "dawn").

So, your full name could be taken to mean: "Dawn of the Angels."

Arq - I know vixen has different meanings [I used female fox, as I thought vixen meant a mother fox, and didn't know that it just meant female fox. My bad :p] But apparently in some random Spanish speaking country it's slang for slut, so technically it doesn't actually mean slut.

Nephele - That is some great news to hear, "Dawn of the Angels" is so much more impressive than slut :D Haha, but I didn't know that, and on my really short google search didn't see that :p I'm glad you knew that though, it actually made me happy to hear it, as being named 'Slut' is not very pleasant. :D

Mithos, that's ok, and I never really put the connection, as in using my name as a game reference. That's funny :p I love games in general. Zelda included, but don't really pay attention to names [ A lot of people want to point out my name is another form of Sora from kingdom Hearts though noone else has noticed the Zelda reference either :p]

Zora, the next time anyone tells you that your name means "slut" (even if only figuratively), you can point them to this page.

Behind the Name is an authoritative website on name etymology. I know, because I've helped to contribute to it. ;)

Karl Robert Eduard von Hartmann was a German philosopher somewhere in the 19-20th century, he has some interesting stuff about the unconscious. I like his last name so.. yeah.

Post Re: What does your name mean?
My username was mostly generated with a random letter generator a few years ago. I was trying to think of a new username for stuff because I was tired of using Raziel_Lee (one I made in high school based on the Legend of Kain games and using Amy Lee's last name since I used to love Evanescence) or my other standby Rambo51589 (my very first username...Rambo was the name of a tiger I "adopted" at the Houston zoo who had passed away a while ago now and the digits are my birthday). So, I added in an "o" (I think the generator gave me rogth or rgoth at first) and rogoth was born.

My real name is much cooler though. My first name means "follower of God" in Arabic and my last name, I kid you not, means "father of figs." And my middle name is in memory of my grandmother (mom's mom) who passed away shortly before I was born.

Post Re: What does your name mean?
I generated mine some time ago when AIM just started up. I think I was looking for an alternative to the one I used for my AOL account.

It meant several things. Among those, I'm pretty sure it referred to my own sense of alienation. It also referred to the idea that there's something beyond what is seen. It also may have referred to the idea that sometimes things so unbelievable often pass imperceptibly to your average person, as at that time it was something I was big into. It may have also had to do with the way I dressed being very different from the way I actually was.

Basically, it was a very broad expression of assorted ideas going on at the time and it sounded right.

It had nothing to do with the Clash.

Post What does your nickname mean - or why you have choosen it?
Many nicks have a deeper meaning that not necessarily meat the eye in the first moment. Many of us got something in mind with it the others don't know.

demon17 for example means the 17th demon of the Old Persian demonology. The demon of dissatisfaction. An old counterpart of the primordial mother. You perhaps should know that demons are the former gods of the defeated nations. I think Nephele could tell us an interesting story.

Some of my best friends are demons!

I can recommend a favorite book: A Dictionary of Angels, Including the Fallen Angels, by Gustav Davidson. It includes the names of many demons, and Davidson gives a bibliography of hundreds of source books (including many medieval manuscripts) that were used in the compilation of his very comprehensive dictionary. There are people who have set up sites all over the web who have ripped off Davidson's work, and not given him the credit due. (Davidson died in the '70s.)

After reading some of the stories behind the names..I am sorry to say mine is not so thoughtful..* smile*

I use Ezra, for the poet Ezra Pound..who is mostly unknown and those who have heard of him ,know only of his long winded and rambling work called Cantos..I how ever like a much shorter poem.

NIGHT SONG
And have you thoroughly kissed my lips;
There was no particular haste,
And are you not ready when evening's come?
There's no particular haste.

You've got the whole night before you,
Heart's-all-beloved-my-own;
In an uninterrupted night one can
Get a good deal of kissing done.

Pluse I just like the name

Nightshade..well...just sounds sooo darn goth ..*grin*

My buddies I've kept in touch with from the military called me Arbitrator because seemingly everyone always come to me to settle disputes when they needed a middle guy. Most of the arguments were pretty stupid but I'd find out the facts between the two and make a decision most were happy with. Plus I'm usually right when I piece everything together.

I also have the magical ability to filter through bullshit and simplify everything.
