Did anyone pay attention to this? Any thoughts?

I found it all a bit underwhelming really, all the games that were shown at E3, I had already seen previously, and the tech, while impressive, didn't excite me, because I know I'll never get them, because I'll never use them.

I think the general consensus is that the Wii U was the star of the show.
It is interesting, and I will be watching to see how they utilise it in games...but I doubt I'll ever actually get one, I've become totally anti-motion control at this point, and while theres more to it than that, I know I'll never get it.

I thought the PS Vita was quite cool, I liked the use of the dual touch screens, but again, I've recently sold off my DSI because I'm pretty much done with handheld gaming, so more hardware I'm not going to buy...

So any thoughts? I haven't finished looking through what was shown, if you think I missed something epic, let me know :)

I'm glad nintendo aren't trying to milk us too much by allowing wii accessories to be used with the wii u, but I am worried that if i throw that new controller in a fit or rage it'll be a lot more expensive to replace.

Other than that I was drooling over the new videos of Elder Scrolls Skyrim gameplay, hopefully they haven't dumbed it down yet again but it looks beautiful!

I am really looking forward to the new Elder Scrolls installment as well. Though I am a fan of the series, I wasn't so hot on Oblivion, even though I put a lot of time into it.

What it had in breadth it really lacked in depth in my opinion. I am glad they are cutting the fat and focusing on things that are more relevant. (No more "Athletics", for example).

I followed it quite thoroughly, focusing mainly on the three big conferences: Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony.

(Links are for my opinions on my gaming blog: they're way too long to repost here)

Picks of the show for me were Hitman: Absolution (hell yes), Mass Effect 3, Saints Row The Third, Overstrike, Assassin's Creed: Revelations and, surprisingly, Battlefield 3. I'm not a modern military shooter fan so it really shouldn't have but by god those visuals were impressive, though the tank drive demo went on for way too long.

As cool as the PS Vita looks, I doubt it's going to be the success Sony hopes it will be.
Why buy a dedicated handheld when you can play games on your smartphone (as well as make calls, browse the internet and listen to music)? Pocket space is at a premium and people don't want to carry around surplus devices when the one they have, and take everywhere with them, does all they need. The PSP didn't set the world on fire and 3DS sales were below Nintendo's expectations, so I see the Vita as the last gasp for dedicated handheld platforms.

My main interests too plus Uncharted 3, From Dust and Silent Hill : Downpour (one of the developers wearing a Bauhaus T-shirt in that ;)) .
I've always been a fan of the Battlefield series, but they always seemed half a step behind the competition in the graphics department (leagues ahead with sound though...and then of course theres all that lovely, lovely destruction), so I'm glad the next "proper" Battlefield is looking so good.
Also : piloting Jet fighters :D
I just hope it bucks the trend of modern shooters of having short (and easy) single player campaigns, which the Bad Company games embraced.

I am still have the first gameboy. I have guys asking what it is. Smartphones are killing handheld gaming its hard to beat all the apps that the smartphone has its kind of sad.

Silent hill is always relevant to my interests. Too bad VALVe had nothing this year. But then again they deserve some downtime after Portal2.

I don't remember, did E3 have anything to do with the new Bioshock game? I think they did.

Admittedly I don't follow the gaming world too closely, but I am a bit dismayed to see that Diablo III did not make an appearance! It's supposedly going to enter external beta testing towards the end of the year and be ready for release sometime early to mid 2012, but I'm starting to get suspicious about that time frame. Blizzard, stop being such a tease! I've waited for D3 for the last....*not going to count how many years* Yeah! :(
