 Inspirations?
I was wondering who you guys have in mind, if anyone, when you're picking out your outfit or adding makeup. These are a few of the looks I'm inspired by: 1979 NosferatuSmith: when my hair allows itand my guiltiest pleasure

 Re: Inspirations?
I'm not actually inspired by anyone, though I would love to learn who to do my makeup in a very Egyptian way.

I'm more inspired by 80's post apocalyptic Sci-Fi movies, though I am heading into a mix of macabre Steampunk.

I find bits and pieces that go well together.

(see FAQ). Exceptions are made from time to time, though. But, as a rule, please post links. (Like the links I replaced your last images with in your previous postings.) We also don't want to hotlink pics to other people's websites, as it uses their bandwidth. So best to host pics on your own site for the times when exceptions are made to posting pics here. And, yes, those looks are very inspiring! -- Nephele

Oh no. Forgive my inattention to detail. Do you guys happen to know somewhere where photos are embraced?

Egyptian OneEgyptian TwoMy eye make-up is extremely similar to the second, though I would rather it look more like the first (trade blue in for black, though).

 Re: Inspirations?
I love those Egyptian ladies, Midi! Reminds me a little of the late Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra. For myself, I find the silent movie era divas to be inspiring. Such as Theda Bara, as depicted in my avatar. (No, that's not a pic of me holding my head and going: "Oy, not another fracas on the board!") -- Nephele

 Re: Inspirations?
If I'm dressing up on the weekend, I do pinup styles usually a la Pinup Girl Clothing with a special thought to Masuimi Max, one of their most popular pinups. I look NOTHING like her, but I sure wish I did. And for the record, I LOVE Elvis...so much so that I named my son after him, and Hank Williams. ~spidey

It them indeed, Mr. Senium: The epitome of style, as far as I'm concerned! spiderlimbs wrote: And for the record, I LOVE Elvis...so much so that I named my son after him, and Hank Williams. How interesting you say that, just today I read an article on the New York Times about how this year was the first year in decades in which Elvis was not in the top 1000 names. How old are they? Any comments on Dita?

 Re: Inspirations?
The thin white duke era of David Bowie inspires my look (for going out, otherwise its just jeans & a T-shirt), minus the cocaine and dyed hair. Though I add elements I like from various sources for example 2nd wave mod or mid-60's rock n' roll, all strained through a goth colour filter. She has a great style, very much like the pin-ups Spidey mentioned, I think, however her dresses wouldn't look quite as good on me

 Re: Inspirations?
For me, hands down Dita Von Teese in Spring/Summer. The dresses make the weather much easier to handle. For the rest of the year, anything from Hellraiser to Poppy Z. Brite inspires my look. It really depends on how gussied up I wanna get.
