 Re: New Poe Novel
Oh dear. I am weak whenever the Raven is mentioned. Poe is my soulmate.

 Re: New Poe Novel
Wolfie: I don't think it matters so much about the "time", I think it has a lot more to do with Poe just being Poe. In any case, it looks like it might be an interesting read. If one can look past the incest, of course.

 Re: New Poe Novel
I admit: I will most likely never read this. When it comes to Poe, I will stick to his poems and some of his stories. After reading his biography my liking of him cooled considerably. So yes, I will stick to his works and butt out of his 'life'.

This is why I tend to not read about the real lives of the people I find I like, whether they are writers/actors/musicians very often... it always taints my feelings towards their work as well as them (unless it is something really bad like child abuse/murders/hate crimes, etc and then they no longer get any of my money ever again! Like when Mel Gibson went on his anti-Semitic rampage and now Charlie Sheen as he continues his downward spiral into the asylum... not going to use my money to fund that kind of crap).

 Re: New Poe Novel
Yeah that is why as a general rule I try never to learn about the people who inspire me- sometimes I cave. I do it but rarely- but I still do it every once in a while. Mos of the time it never chances my opinion but when it does- it really sucks.
