It's actually not that unusually small for a NYC apartment. I have a friend living in Manhattan in an apartment around that size. And he has a dog, too.

Not for me, though. It would break my heart if I didn't have the space to keep all my books.

90 ft for 700 dollars? I could never do that. Ever. I don't care what part of town its in. Of course, that's just me.

Who is happy her new home is almost 2000 square feet.

Good job she doesn't have a cat. There really, really isn't enough room in there for her to indulge the time-honoured pastime of cat-swinging.

She better hope she never gets hurt or has to have a surgery with the way she has it set up, she'd never be able to get to her bed [that's only 23" below the ceiling].

There were a bunch of comments under that story about other things she'd have trouble doing in that bed :P

Don't look so surprised - just because you are better at squeezing into tight spaces than most :P

HA!

I could never live in a space that small. I'm not claustrophobic, but I can't stand the idea of sleeping in a space that tight. Reminds me of the inevitable trip to the grave.

$700 is cheap rent?

Maybe that's where New York zombies stay :?

I paid that rent for a one-bedroom apartment 7 times that size until I bought my current place. Now THAT was cheap - for LA, that is. Not for most parts of the USA.

For NYC, it sure is cheap! Unless you're living in a rent-controlled building that you've been in for most of your life.

I'm outside the city limits, and my monthly mortgage payments for my house aren't too much higher than that (not counting taxes).

I'd rather pay the mortgage on an entire house, than $700 to live in a NYC closet. For the price of train fare, I can have Manhattan on weekends anyway. And that's about enough for me.

My dorm room was probably about that size, but it didn't have a bathroom (residents used a common bathroom) or kitchen (dorm dining hall). But that was then.

Not if we occasionally loose the zombies, just to keep us from being tasty brains and no brawn.
