No. NH is more than a state...it's a state of mind.

You can be an honorary member, but only because Diva's nightclub is in MA. Their Haven night is awesome. I wish it wasn't a 2 1/2-hour drive for me.

Glad to hear they did something after ManRay closed down.

You should see the weather lately. I have never had so many snow days in my entire life.

I'm about 45 minutes away from Berlin, NH, does that count? (no, it doesn't, but I'm lonely being one of the very very few Mainers)

Only if you know how to pronounce "Berlin" correctly. 8)

I lived there for quite a while, in the southern part of the state anyway. Is the Old Man still on the plates?

That's an interesting question since he fell off the mountain just before I moved away from there.

Yes, he still is. He's on our state quarter, too. And yes, he fell off the mountain a few years ago. It's kind of sad to drive down through Franconia Notch and look up where he used to be; it's like he was surgically removed.

I heard about him falling off quite a while ago and Seth's post reminded me of when I lived there. Now, I'm curious what emblem will replace him when he fades from memory (I give it 50 years). What else defines New Hampshire? Vermont has maple syrup, Maine has got Stephen King, Massachusetts has, oh, the Revolutionary War. New Hampshire has... no sales tax?
Since I don't live there, though, I wish Seth good luck in getting more New Hampshire Goths to represent!

I'm guessing maybe Mount Washington will become the new state symbol.
