Not currently playing, but I did see today (on a Nox Arcana Youtube binge) clips of "Evil", a Russian vampire movie, to Nox Arcana's song "Night of the Wolf". Evil is supposedly directed by Oleg Fesenko. I haven't heard of it, but from the clips, it looks fairly good--I can't stop watching the video.

Hey! Welcome back! Long time no see!

And the video sounds amazing - I'll have to check it out.

Dead Space on the iPad - seems to be the only platform I'm playing at all right now because of location and workload, but there are some incredible apps out there.

Just finished Shrek Cart (for a laugh), and Harry Potter years 1-4 a little before XMas.

TBH, a helluva lot cheaper that buying them on a games machine.

Merci. :) I've been a bit busy, lately. Plenty of things have been coming out of left field, as it were. Such is life...but I am back now.

Most videos like that end up very cheesy. I found it quite refreshing...bonus points if you like Nox Arcana.

Found it! And yes, I think it works perfectly - for anyone else's attention, you can find it here. As soon as I saw it, it nudged my memory; I've seen parts of the film before used as accompanying video, and consequently researched the film; unfortunately reviews aren't very complimentary, but in the end, beauty is, after all, in the eye of the beholder...

Reminds me of Stabat Mater (Rossini) Minnie. I prefer this version (Pergolesi) (I'm not religious though).

Poor reviews? A shame...but I must say, I'm not all too surprised. Vampire films, on the whole, get rather poor ratings. :|

And, it's a Russian vampire movie. I can't tell you definitively whether it's true or not, but I've heard it said that "Nightwatch", which came to screens here in 2005, is the first horror film ever made in Russia. Therefore, I suspect that most critics feel that they're somewhat lagging in the genre, and that gives them carte blanche to slaughter a film.

But, that's getting WELL off topic. As far as what I'm playing goes, I'm still enjoying "Wizard 101". As time progresses and I become more accustomed to its world, the more I find myself liking it.

Damn, your new avatar kicks ass!

And you're right; I did find a way to resist... by getting thoroughly addicted to Babylon 5 instead. :S

Firstly... Thank you! ( ) For anyone interested, it's another "Queen of Swords" image.

Secondly... I loved "B5" from day one. Yes, detractors said it was initially an inferior "DS9", but by season 4, it had far surpassed that show. It's a shame that season 5 feels "bolted on", which of course is basically due to Warner TV delaying a decision on whether to give it the fifth season or not, but... Wow! What a season it was!

But I loved "Crusade" even more... :(

An inferior DS9?!?

Okay, I'm about to commit a Trekkie heresy here, but it has to be stated outright: technically, Deep Space Nine probably ripped off Babylon 5 long before B5 hit the airwaves. There, I said it, you may tie me to the stake now and set the kindling ablaze!

As the story goes, Babylon 5's creator J. Michael Straczynski was shopping around for a network to take on B5. He originally took the series to Paramount Pictures - probably hoping they'd take his project on, since they had already had a massive sci fi success story with The Next Generation - and he showed them all of his notes and ideas for B5's overall four-year plot. Paramount turned him down... then Deep Space Nine - a television series set on a space station shortly after a major war featuring a commanding officer who was also a religious icon for an alien race - premiered shortly thereafter. At least, that's the story perpetuated by JMS' rabid fanbase.

As much as I adore DS9 (and Lord knows I adore that series), it wouldn't surprise me at all. Ironically, the same thing happened to Gene Roddenberry when he was hunting for a studio to take on the original Star Trek. He took all his notes to CBS, who started asking him several questions about how he planned to make a convincing and dramatic sci fi series on a tight budget. They romanced him, really made him think they would've taken his series on... then rejected him later and applied all the ideas they hijacked from him to their own sci fi series, Lost in Space. (I'd love to say that Roddenberry's guys got the last laugh, since Voyager was itself a Lost in Space clone, but doesn't CBS own the Trek franchise now?)
