Post What's the Weirdest Christmas Gift You've Ever Gotten?
Last year I got a really strange but awesome doll for Christmas. From my Mom. Because she spotted it in her small town shopping mart being sold in the toys section. It's strange because the doll looks like a cleanned up version of the girl from The Grudge wearing a white dress with black handprints all over the skirt and on her legs. There's also crosses on her palms. This is not what you'd expect to find in a conservative small town toy section. I love it to bits though, she lives in my office.

Hmm, weird you say?

Can you define weird. Someone else's weird may be perfectly normal to me...

I know that one of the most annoying presents I have ever received was a book about the bible and god, etc and so forth. Everyone thought I would love it SO much because of what a huge bookworm I am. I guess they forgot that I do not like christian 'how to be this' type of books.

Weird...okay this will be stupid, but it was weird to me. Last year my ex kept talking about what an awesome gift he got me- and I thought he meant Christmas. Anyway he got me very excited about it and when Christmas got here I admitted he didn't get me anything. At all. Nothing.

As it turns out, the 'gift' he was talking about was for my birthday. apparently Disney world had this thing where you get in for free on your birthday last year and he signed me up for a free ticket. all we had to do was drive 3 hrs and pay for him to get in.

Needless to say it was probably the weirdest and the worst Christmas ever. Anything would have been better than nothing, especially after the way he played it out. Kinda sounds petty looking back.

The weirdest gift I ever got was a Honda Shadow 600cc motorcycle (black, of course). My husband kept it hidden in his mother's garage down the street. The only thing that spoiled the surprise was that the title came in the mail two weeks before Christmas, and I usually get the mail. I didn't have to open it to know that it was the title to something, so he had to take me down to his mother's house and unveil the Shadow.

I've since moved on to bigger motorcycles, but that was a weird and wonderful Christmas.

Weird...and wonderful :D

The gifts actually arrived a couple of weeks after Christmas 2008, but they still count as Christmas presents.
LS surprised me (well, he meant to surprise me but he let it slip) with gag gifts and nice ones:
A jewelry box with a black cat, pentacle and red-jeweled spider
Four chess-piece-sized gargoyles
Black lace fingerless gloves
Glow-in-the-dark skeleton gloves (they were his gloves)
Pirate bandanna
Crime scene tape and chalk "She was horrified but I thought it was dead funny"
Voodoo doll
Plastic monocle
Patch of the British crown
Skull-encrusted pen
And I suspect I've left something out - I apologize!

The crime scene tape and chalk, doll, and monocle are in my office - everything else is at home.

Last year my husband's grandmother tried to give me a pink faux snakeskin purse....tried to, she knows I hate pink. I didn't think the gift was weird so much as knowingly trying to give me something she knew I'd dislike.

I HATE it when people do that.

I don't think I've ever gotten a present that was all that strange, I guess the oddest thing I've gotten was a Bob Marley T-Shirt from my cousin/adopted sister, while I was going through my androgenous phase and certainly not wearing band T-shirts, and also : Bob Marley? Really?!
I just thanked her and took it, I think I still have it somewhere, never worn it.

Nah, never mind H. I've got you something even weirder.

Oddest present for xmas was a soldering iron. Mind, it was better than socks and I do use one now and again.

A "Jackass" DVD. We had a grab bag in our family back in the day, and my nephew totally blew it and forgot to get my gift. He grabbed the last two DVDs they had at the store
