 Re: MMOs
A question was asked "how high a level have you ever gotten?" Guild Wars is a bit different. Level 20 is the cap, but the game really only starts when you hit 20. the lower levels are like a long tutorial. Lotro isn't the most challenging game, but playing it is relaxing, gives me a chance to get away from all the stresses of real life. d&d online is kind of the same, only a little more difficult. My main in Guild Wars is a warrior. they get no respect. Mostly because they have to be played as straight brute strength and die all the time while the casters stay back out of harms way. But I love to hack and slash......it is so different from my real personalty.

But I love to hack and slash......it is so different from my real personalty. I kinda like a mixture of both, actually. My captain on STO can swap from close-range weapons to long-range. When I feel like being cold and logical with my targets, I snipe from afar while I let my NPC crew do the heavy-hitting. (I do this often. My sniper skills in-game are phenomenal.) If I had a bad day at work, though, I bust out the bat'leth and somebody's gettin' cut. Oh, yeah, the level question... - World of Warcraft: Highest I've leveled an Alliance is 13. Highest I've gotten a Horde is maybe 14-15. (I had my attack raptor by then, so I didn't care if I got higher or not.)
[*] City of Heroes: Highest I'd gotten my main hero, Agent Hazard, was level 13. [*] Star Wars Galaxies: I think I almost had my Jedi to level 20 before getting bored with the game entirely. [*] Star Trek Online: I'm currently a Grade 4 Captain, which comes to about, ohh, level 34. (I could live in the Star Trek universe if you let me.)

 Re: MMOs
I think I made it to level 26 or so in WoW back in the day.
I've played Pardus for three or four years straight now, and that game has no levels.....

 Re: MMOs
More people want you dead There are stats, but they're not capped by level. They go up based on some complex formula derived from your skill level and what you're shooting at. There are also unlocked abilities at certain durations of play, and the more experience points the better a ship you can buy and the more buildings you can have. It's.... complex.

Now, that game sounds kick-ass!
