They're supposed to be like that.

But you and I can motivate each other to save up money for a BJD instead. :P

For some reason that's a HUGE complaint on the action figure boards "They aren't shaped like real women". Kinda funny comment from people who collect dolls with teeny waists a torpedo tits. As much as I love my 2 BJDs, they aren't shaped natrually, either. BUT that's why I like dolls, they can look any way you want.

Are you two saving up for any particular BJDs? I can give you some links and resources if you're new?

I have no problem with the fact that dolls are shaped unnaturally; they're supposed to be that way. After collecting Barbies for God only knows how many years, you kinda get used to that shape. LOL

I'm not really saving up for any in particular, Wolfmammy, but I did make a thread specifically for BJDs, so if you have any resources, please post them there so those who are interested in the community will see them. :)

Wolfmamy is full of resources. She helped me get started in the hobby and I've got my bjd on the way. ^_^

That is so true. Awhile back I had a PM convo with Wolfie for advice on BJDs. I got a lot of good info from the Wolf Lady.

Post Re: Monster High Dolls!
Alrighty, I hope that no one minds me posting some of my other dolls as well as my MH dolls in this post? I don't want to clutter up the boards.

Okay, so last week I was really raggy and just in a general bad mood. My husband went to the store to buy some diapers and a few other groceries and came back with this! She's the Monster High Gloom Beach Frankie. I love the little details on her and the accessories. Lightning bolt hair clip, jumper cable handles on her handbag, lightning aroung her sunglasses frame, and her platforms are cut to resemble lightning bolts(they also have thick straps reminiscent of the straps used in the original Frankenstein's Monster movie to hold the monster to the table). Shoes!

A few days later we went to the store and I picked up Draculaura, Frankie(original) and Lagoona(I got Cleo & Deuce for Xmas from Hubz, Ghoulia and Clawdeen will be here next week so more pix then!).
The current crew.

Frankie vs. Frankie
I'm thinking of calling the one on the right(bathing suit) Hedwig.

Hedwig has already taken Cleo's shoes since they look like the wrappings on the Bride. Her new outfit will be based on that look:
Swap

I almost completely passed up getting Lagoona. I looked at her at the store and almost got her, but put her back and she was the last one. Later on my husband had to get back out to the store for something so I begged him to look and see if they still had her. They did so he brought her home. There's something very enchanting about Lagoona that I can't quite put my finger on. I think that if I repainted her with brown eyes and gave her brown hair she'd look just like my daughter.

Lilith liked my dolls so much that the next day we picked her up a regular Frankie and the last Dawn of the Dance Clawdeen. I stole the little 'icoffin' phone. Lilith doesn't care about it and I really didn't want to see it get messed up.

Some of the crew from Xmas:

Ebz(Cy Girl ~ Ebony). I love her silvery hair, but will probably completely reroot and paint her. They gave her weird, stupid looking bangs that I can't stand, plus her hair's a tad short for my taste.
Ebz 2

Zombie Slayer 1

Zombie Slayer 2

Zombie Slayer 3, as you can see she's still a work in progress. I had to lengthen her staff because it looked a bit short, then Lilith got hold of it and broke it. Luckily I was able to get some gorilla glue and still had some spare pieces that I had previously cut off of the staff. Always save parts! You never know when they will come in handy!

My current absolute favourite doll is my Xena! She does NOT come with the body that I have her on. My Xena is a 'hybrid' of the Evil Xena head on the Triad Toys Large Bust Alpha body. I tried to buy the small busted one, but one of the guys on another forum beat me to it, he even apologized for snapping it up first(I told him first come first served, no hard feelings). Anyway, I modded the bust so that it was more true-to-life like Lucy Lawless.
*Warning! Nekkid Doll Boobz!*
Before modding:
Xena 1
Xena 2
Xena 3

After boob job:

Pic 2

The other large busted body is going to my Maureen O'Hara doll(when the head arrives). No, I'll not be reducing that one. Based on the Da Vinci height measurements I need to add about an inch to Xena's height and armspan, so I'll be modifying her legs & arms in the following months. I keep meaning to update my blog, but this will do for now. ^_^

I haven't done any repainting yet. I'm waiting on my new art supplies to arrive. Geez, tax season is better than Xmas, sometimes.

I love seeing pics of your doll collection. And, I didn't know they'd come out with a new Monster High series! Now I'll have to consider getting those Gloom Beach dollies. It'll probably be awhile, though, as I'm tapped out from splurging on the just released 2011 Schleich horse models.

I'm waiting for somebody to make a Gemma Teller Morrow dollie...

I also have the Gloom beach Frankie. Hedwig is a cute name. I recently got the Dead Tired Ghoulia. The Class line is pretty cute too. I like the Home Ick Frankie. The Md Science Lagoona is also fairly interesting. Abbey Bominable's face is not quite my cup of tea. I am a little disappointed with Spectra Wondergiest's clothing, but then again, rips and rags does not make a good fashion doll. A clothing swap would be benifical I think. I think the white would work well on Spectra.

I've been too busy. I got ahold of the ghost doll (whose name I cannot remember atm). I wanted the Draculaura with the umbrella, but I can't justify the money, esp when I hate the yellow in her outfit. I've been focusing more on my bjds lately...which since my last post have grown in number. I'm up to four complete msd size, one tiny rabbit, and a floating head. T_T They're addicting. There are dolls all over this apartment...

It seems that Mattel has not gotten the last of my money it will ever get. I love Poppy Geist. She is totally going to be mine. The should now start coming up with Monster High exchange students. A Tengu from japan or a Selkie from Ireland. Maybe a nix from Sweden. Perhaps a cell phone obsessed Harpy?

Poppy isn't a new Monster High doll. She's a OOAK that someone made.

The new MH dolls are 'Spectra Vondergeist' and 'Abbie Bominable'.
