I would really like to throw Lacrimosa on here, due to the fact I LOVE their first cd, but come on guys...... 95$ for a ticket????

Apparently they do...... in a country who has no clue who the fuck they are, with jackoff organizers who don't promote their event. Guess how many came???

Well, with a crowd that small at least you wouldn't have to worry about having trouble seeing the stage.

Maybe we should immortalize him for that particular dumbassery. "Uh-oh, looks like someone just pulled a Tilo!"

Dictionary definition: "Pulling a Tilo" - Overestimating one's importance to the point of self-inflicting massive financial loss.

Re: Goth Bands You Want to Dislike But Can't
it was rather classic, but only 75% the fault of Tilo's bloated overconfidence, and 25% goes to crummy organizers who didn't promote the event, or at least promoted it poorly. I didn't know about it until less than a week prior, seeing the flyer at my friend's metal bar under a stack of his usual local band flyers. Believe it or not, I do have friends in the gothic scene here who LIKE Lacrimosa, and were actually in shock they came and played here without them knowing...... Believe it.... how unbelievably rare it is for a German goth band(who aren't quasi-EbM in some way) to come over to Japan in the first place, AND NOT EVEN PROMOTE TO THE GOTH SCENE????!!!! Suffice to say, there wasn't a single goth there, mostly just metalheads and fantasy otaku-types. However, I did make the sacrifice and pay that ridiculous amount due to the fact I wasn't going to miss having a band used to playing in front of capacity audiences in Europe, playing a mere ten feet away from me A memorable, yet funny, yet sad night it was....... He's obviously got this delusion that if you're big in Germany, you're big everywhere

centurion wrote: He's obviously got this delusion that if you're big in Germany, you're big everywhere I'm getting this in before anybody else... "No quips about the contents of his leather jeans, please!" Yet, such a massive failure of judgement offered you a real benefit. Oh, the times I wish something like that had happened for me! Of course, the atmosphere will, I assume, have been pretty crap, because with so few people that strange empathy which a large audience develops will have been lacking, plus, the ambience of body heat and the sheer physical presence of a sizeable audience acting like a big fleshy carpet will have had all kinds of unpredictable effects on the overall sound quality, but depite the negatives - and, in some way because of them - I bet it's a night you'll remember forever.
