First thing I noticed: automated ticket machines in train stations that demand *exact* exact, one-unit-exact change for the purchase. At 100 euro this is nigh-impossible to achieve. Why two fifty euro notes was not acceptable I don't know, but that's just how it is it seems.

I've angried more than I should do in work at this point, so I'll have to go over other stuff later, including the Great Knife Adventure.

Great Knife Adventure? Sounds..adventurous.

At which train station have you been? I never heard about a ticket machine that didn't accept fifty-notes.. And I am sure that you could have paid with card. Oh and whenever you go into a service center they give you the drawback and in the busses also. If I take a look at my dublin bus tickets..

Why would I have a card? That's for people with jobs and suchlike! It was Berlin Hauptbanhof as it happens. I have no idea WTF they were thinking TBH. The last time I was there the S-train had arbitrarily stopped serving Berlin Schoenfeld too... *sigh*

Ok, random but Arquisiel can I add you as a friend?
I've been on here for a few months and I've just realised that I have no friends, it's so sad. Plus you're a nice dublin guy from what I can tell from our chats. By all means say no just thought I'd ask. :)

I don't know how the friend system works here but if you search for Arquinsiel anywhere else you'll find me.

Well, as beeing German you can only make Poland-jokes if there are other Germans around you who share the same sense of humour. I once read that the longer a conversation goes on the more possible is a joke connected with the nazi-time. And it's really true. Fascinating. What's about the Big Knife Adventure?

Basically, the Great Knife Adventure shows that Germans are immune to the effects of a Someone Else's Problem field.

Around this time last year I was visiting my GF's cousin in Berlin and, as always, I had brought my balisong knife with me. Standard airport procedure etc, it's in my check luggage. Been through a few times before and never had any trouble. This time.....

Well according to the cops invovled the knife had been made illegal in the THREE DAYS since I entered the country, so now I was being charged with posession of an illegal weapon. After much bullshit fucking around trying to find keys for their own damn office, one cop nearly removing his fingers showing off with the knife trying to copy the fancy opening in movies etc and nobody really speaking English and demanding I sign things written in German (while treating the whole thing as a big joke....) I am now a convicted criminal in Germany.

The absolute WORST part of it is that the baggage handlers could ahve looke at my luggage on the X-ray and said "he won't be able to get at this until he gets to wherever he's going - not my problem" and just not made work for themselves..... *sigh*
