And from time to time I see a kitty or squirrel in the tree (no worries, they're just as good at climbing down as they are about climbing up).

*laughing* as this is so me! I have pink in my bedroom, PINK!! I now also have PINK LACY CURTAINS in my front room! I won't ever be able to invite anyone over ever again!! One thing I DO have in my bedroom that everyone likes is my hats. I have a series of Burlesque hats arrayed on the walls. I love them.

But the bedroom is pink. Let me remind EVERYONE. PINK! And, worse, with pink lacy curtains in the front room. For shame...

Who hasn't had a pink room at some point or another?

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
I embarrassingly admit to having a "dusty rose" bedroom. But that's because when my man and I bought the house, the bedroom already had new carpeting in it in a shade of dusty rose. So instead of forking out more cash to change the carpeting, we continued the decorating scheme with fresh, pale rose-colored paint for the walls and a Victorian rose/scroll wallpaper border up along the high ceiling.
My pride and joy in our bedroom is our sexy, queen-sized, dark pine, four-poster bed with mirrored canopy. I think that makes up for the "dusty rose" coloring of the room.
-- Nephele EDIT: I'm with you, Minnie, in never having had a pink bedroom before. When I was a kid, my bedroom was decorated a fiery orange. That was to complement the huge, cool, framed Scorpio astrological print that dominated my room, in shades of bright orange and red. I also had a bright orange and gold shag carpet. Shag! How retro.
EDIT AGAIN: Harpy, I love your view! I want to climb into that tree outside your bedroom window and read a book!

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
at Nephele I look out the window and occasionally see a cat or squirrel in that tree. I've never had a pink room - my first room growing up was plain white. Then when the oldest sister moved out, the second sister took her room and I got the second sister's room, which was painted sky blue. I had all sorts of junk in there - books, minerals and shells on the shelves. Plus a spelling bee trophy that my dad would point out to guests (somewhat to my embarrassment). My second oldest sister, when she was very young, drew an elevator button panel inside of the closet, so I had that too later on. When she was very young (probably seven or eight), she kept a baseball bat in her bed next to her "in case of spiders". One night Mom heard a loud pounding coming from my sister's room - Mom got hysterical and ran over there to find her beating the hell out of a raisin.

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
the order of these pictures is if you were to go left and walk in a circle around my room: Dresser - it's always covered with stuff, sometimes I can manage to keep it clear for a day or two. Closet - Always have belts and that lab coat hanging there, and I keep my art in that corner. Bed - The only "odd" thing in my room is that chain hanging on the wall. Little bookcase - books and music, and change. Desk - Pretty much always looks like that, although right now its covered in newspaper.
