Oh. I learn something new every day whether I like it or not "Bella-endless" may be the more appropriate term.

The name "Jacob" has been the #1 most popular baby boy's name in the U.S. since 1999 – six years before Meyer's Twilight novel was published. It's more likely that Stephenie Meyer was the one who was influenced by the popularity of that name, in choosing it for one of her characters.
The name "Bella" started climbing up the U.S. baby names popularity lists beginning in 2000 – five years before Twilight. Twilight may have given the name a little boost, but a more likely explanation for Bella's popularity is because it's a diminutive of the current #1 reigning most popular baby girl's name in the U.S.: "Isabella" -- which first hit the U.S. Top 100 most popular baby girls' names list in 1998, seven years before Twilight. Again, Meyer was the one most likely influenced by the name's popularity, when choosing it for her character.
The name "Cullen" has had its ups and downs since the '70s and, while it reached its popularity peak last year, the preceding year it had dipped to one of its lows. It's dubious that Twilight is to be credited for any "popularity" of that name, as it's not even in the U.S. Top 400 (and never has been).
-- Nephele Ok, if there's one thing I've learned here, it's don't try to BS Neph when it comes to names. She knows her names!!! (hence being the name scramble queen ). Funny. Today, my oldest nephew (who owns a t-shirt company) advertised on his Facebook a new t-shirt "for all the non-twilight fans"

Do those hardcore fans scare the Twilight actors? I would think so. -- Sat Jul 03, 2010 7:58 am -- donutte wrote: Funny. Count Chocula had him in a strangle hold, too!

If I were an actor and someone had a room full of shit about me, I would not be happy about it. It would make me follow in the footsteps of Sopor and just not be in the public eye unless I was making a movie.

I bet she would be the first to poke fun at someone who decked their bedroom out Star Trek style as well.

Re: Pathetic, Pathetic, Pathetic Twilight fans
Meyer should have kept only Twilight and bam the end. She went over dramatic. And i am not going to lie but i read Twilight about six years ago and loved it so much. The movie killed the imagination. I also think that Meyer is a terrible author. She states clearly in Twilight that the vampires are like stone and completely dead. Then in some other book- i never read the other books - Edward gets Bella pregnant. I find this very ironic and contradicting and silly of her because EVERYONE knows how living guys get living girls pregnant. Its not like i wonder how? no. we've all learned it in Biology. Come on. Edward is dead...geez. Also did anyone hear about the Teen werewolf cults in California? Inspired by, of course, Twilight's orange man Jacob. Apparently one of the members - i believe- was accused of killing a dog that lived down the block from the member. I think that's what they said. But there are a large amount of cults in California and i believe it is spreading.

I feel so sorry for her... What bothers me is if this were a fifty year old man obsessed with the character of Bella Swan, he'd be labelled a potential sex offender. So how is it more socially acceptable for older women to lust after a character that is physically (and mentally given the way he treats women) adolescent? The knee-jerk response would of course be "he's a shinty-six hundred year-old vampire", but that doesn't make it any less reprehensible. I suppose a better example would be the near-equal amount of these sexually frustrated maneaters that lust after Jacob, who is still a teenage boy that just happens to be able to turn into a badly-rendered CGI wolf.

That's a tricky one, because I think the actress is actually in her twenties. So technically, he would be attracted to a woman that is not a minor, but he sees her as the incessantly bitchy and stuck up high school girl, Bella Swan. Anyway, I know what you mean. I was telling someone just the other day my idea of how the "saga" should end: Instead of making her into a vampire, Edward tears out her throat after a monologue about how pitifully naive she was for falling for one of the oldest "vampire tricks" in the book, seduction. Maybe, just maybe, this ending would redeem Meyer’s replacement of incineration with sparkles.
