Pets: Photos, Eccentricities, Torrents, and Stories
I seen this topic on another thread and thought to bring it here. This thread is designed for those of us whom have pets or just love animals a lot. So: Feel free to post pictures of your pets here along with stories and anything else you care to share about your pets or other animals. --- Hesita and NyxHestia is my dog and Nyx is my cat. I need some more recent photos of her, but I have yet to download them. I have a lot of picture of my husband's cat, Isis, but I have not downloaded those either. Hestia is usually pretty sick and likes to be left alone, but is actually very well behaved around the children and when she gets annoyed with them, so always walks away. Nyx is my baby. She is crazy and very curious, though lately she has been more independant and only comes up to me when she wants something. The other day NYx got hungry and her food bowl was empty. She actually took her bag of cat food and dragged it out into the livingroom and started moewing at us. It was very funny. We had to give her food after that, even though she eats to much as it is. So anyone have any pet photos or stories. You can also add other animals (like your favorite animals and such). Looking forward to the responses!

Mellow fella', with a habit of falling asleep curled inside your pants, if you are sitting on the couch with him. My old snake, The Baroness, passed away at 20 years old, and 5.5 feet long (Ball/Reticulated Mix). She slept under my pillow when I was a kid. I miss her. Updated pictures of Jaska and old pics of The Baroness to follow.

Re: Pets: Photos, Eccentricities, Torrents, and Stories
I brought the mother of my two cats to live with us. She was very unhappy at her previous home, where she was being bullied by an aggressive cat. She went from being very playful to being depressed and withdrawn. Since she had been apart from her offspring for so long, it has been a challenge integrating her into the household. My cats were very confused at the disruption of their routines. But now the mother cat is very happy and playful again, and my other two mostly get long with her. I made sure to show them a lot of attention when their mother arrived, so they would know they were not being 'replaced'.

And, I agree - I've done similar things, and it's so important to make sure that the cats who are already with you don't get that "replaced" feeling. I'm glad it's working for you!

Maple, on her 4th birthday (also my 29th), looking very decadent Sara, so pretty!! Sara had shimmied under some towels, 2009 My Baby, lost her last year, I still miss her a lot; probably 2006/7 Lucky, Maple and Ali, from 2004 Diablo and Buffy, old pic from the 1980s, Buffy was one of my faves, and Diablo was the first cat we ever had (he was older than me!!) sorry for so many pics, I just love my babies so much. Thanks! I love the pics of your babies, they are adorable! And Nyx is just the cutest thing I *love* the pic of the snake!! Lost, I've taken in so many cats that were not happy/welcome/cared for at previous homes, so I can understand how it can disrupt the others there. Sara was such a cat. They got used to her though, it always takes a bit of time but it happens eventually

I was very hesitant about bringing the mother cat, Arata. My tigercats Yorick and Calliope are very, very sweet cats and I did not want to disrupt their lives. They had their favorite spots and we had favorite routines. But the mother seemed more miserable every time I would see her, and didn't even seem to enjoy being petted. The first few weeks were not easy, but now I can let them all out together when I go to work. Arata is very playful and affectionate, and Yorick and Calliope are comfortable sleeping on the bed again. I still feel bad about the changes they have to go through, but I am very glad that Arata is happy again.

It sounds like it's working out, and quicker than it did for mine.
And they're really beautiful names!
I'm really hesitant to ask, but... piccies? I'd love to see them...

Re: Pets: Photos, Eccentricities, Torrents, and Stories
I still have not downloaded pictures of Isis and more recent ones of Nyx. However: I felt like sharing this. My favorite horse is a Gyspy Vanner, better Known as an Irish Cob.I really should have been born in Ireland. (Is the black horse (the second picture) shown in this slideshow the most beautiful horse ever? I think so.)

Re: Pets: Photos, Eccentricities, Torrents, and Stories
Sword of the Heretic: I could not view the photo... ____ So I got bored, and tried to see if they had anything online about Chihuahua-pit bull mixes (my dog hestia is one) and I should have known that they do! I was interesting to read about. They mentioned that her breed (yes, she's a particular breed!) has problems with allergies and asmtha. My baby has both. Go figure. I was also reading about both breeds seperately (both the Chihuahua and the Pit Bull) and it is very interesting, espeically since i see traits from both of them in my dog- though in all honesty I am not quie sure which type of pit bull she is, just the she fits the traits.... Seriously though If you look at my picture of Hestia (click first link provided), and this take at look at the link on her breed, that is my puppy completely (click the DO to go to the page about my dog), with the exception of the green eyes. Hestia was blessed with brown. Who knew? It also turns out people go out of their way for my puppy. If only they completely understood just what 'allergies' entailed though, many people would think twice. My poor dog.

First of all, everybody's furry babies are adorable and I'm so glad this thread was started. Second of all, here are mine. They may look cute, but they're all crazy: Tigger: http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/86/l_f26b35c858af474f87c05f85a358e577.jpgDaphne: http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/44/l_885f74d921764ed987c27ec81ac76677.jpgNinja Cat hiding in a box: http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs049.snc3/13644_201975838867_557113867_3971356_6391987_n.jpgKira, mom of the previous three: http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/110/l_013196ca61104a27a1edb18c82656f72.jpgSylvia, who is Daphne's daughter and Kira's granddaughter: (having problems posting these, I'll do it later) Max, who I adopted about three years ago along with his brother Cesar and who acts like he's my baby even though he's about 15 pounds these days: http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/47/l_74a85285a1034f69b164d947395480ef.jpgMax-cat (who I didn't name) with my fiancee Max (there's also a dog next door named Max strangely enough): http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/90/l_9be3abaaf53145768aef140980009176.jpgAnd Cesar, who died about a year and a half ago, which is why I ended up adopting Kira (who was then pregnant) and ended up with the other four: http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/43/l_eb54f71868a56c7400e50af7e9e2de44.jpgCesar and I before he got cancer: http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/34/l_c6abf81c9affa51535d9968661a2cc95.jpg
