They [Gloomth] advertise a lot and every time I see a blurb about them I always go and look, but have yet to actually buy anything. Thank you for posting about your experience in so much detail - it's definitely made me glad I've procrastinated for so long!

You know, I could accept minor mistakes on the items, or even delayed shipping, but with everything combined (including promises unkept about freebies) I have to say I'd be beyond furious. As a retailer myself (and a heavy duty online shopper too) that makes my teeth grind!!!!

Thanks Valerian. I'm just glad I could spare someone else the trouble. I too can accept delays and small errors, but these were large errors...and she has only made excuses. It's excuses for poor service that I can't tolerate.

I didnt come in contact with anyone from customer service but i had a real beef with their sizing. Both times i've ordered from this store i have a choice from a size 7-8 or 10-11. i carefully measure and select sizes based on their size chart and both times it has come out too big. On top of that, both times i paid around 100 dollars for something i have to have taken in or altered. I keep shoping here because they have an original look and it is of a good quality(totally worth the asking price if it fits you...) It looses 2 points due to size issues.

I love this eyeliner, does not smudge and is soft and creamy. The packageing is all black and the lashes are full and fluffy. I am extreamly impressed and i will be shopping there again soon!

The costume is great, im still waiting to my veil to arrive but I really liked how the lady handled the numerous problems with my order. First time around it did not come(lost in the mail). Second time around, the person in india ,that does the sewing, did not recieve the order, third time was the charm, but it took 4 months to recieve the costume. The whole time I had to keep emailing and asking about my costume's status. I was about to ask for a refund when i finally recieved it. The costume was well sewn, but a bit big(this seems to be a running gag for me when ordering things) Im extreamly satisfied with my costume, and ill be wearing it come this renaissance festival.
The time it took cost them 3 points. I think its a fluke though and i intend to order from them again because they have some really beautiful bellydance gear.

The Positive:

They are very cheap, and their products are good. My laptop charge went out on my new laptop about 2 months ago and we finally got around to buying a new one. This place only charge 5 dollars for a charger, plus 5.87 shipping and handling. The product works great and I am not having a single problem with it.

The Negative:

The reason i gave a 4 out of five is because it was a pain in the ass for me to buy it. For some reason, my debit cards (both mine and my husband's) would not work, which was strange as we had the money in the account and I have NEVER once had a this problem anywhere else. We finally were able to pay for though using a different meathod. It would have been here yesterday if onlyit had not been Sunday...

Overall:

If you have a laptop or whatnot and the charger goes out, I would definitely check out this store first.

I often shop from Kate's Clothing because they are well priced and sometimes their sale has a bargain. This top is absolutely beautiful, soft and it washes well. The top I vought was a size L and it is beautiful with a waist clincher and a skirt, or a pair of trousers. The good thing with Kate's Clothing is that they deliver quickly in the UK and the return policy is good. However, sometimes they don't tell you when things are out of stock.

I bought the lace sleeve blouse from Newport News as GothicBfly. I got the cream one, and it is absolutely beautiful. It came really quickly, much faster than I had expected! I exchanged for a smaller size, and that was processed very promptly, too! I am pleased with the service and the quality.

I just have to remind everyone how wonderful Retroscope clothing is!

Purchased: Long black victorian skirt, gothic lolita parasol (it's the one with the crosses)
It shipped out two days after ordering it and arrived two days later. The parasol was a little smaller than I anticipated, based customer images and the site's advertising images. It's still very cute.

Retroscope is amazing.

(^ I think parasols have a tendency to look smaller when you get them, mine did, but that just makes it cuter! :3 )

I've ordered from there before, and my only problem was that it took a long time to ship, but since it was the holiday season, I let it slide.

I was, however, planning on buying some boots from them soon (like, TONIGHT soon) and I've always had a bad rap at ordering shoes online. I hope this won't be another. >_<

I once got some sunglasses as a Christmas present two years back, and while the delivery time was late due to seasonal shipping, I was more or less satisfied with the product (albeit they were a bit crooked). I eyed these lace boots, and I wanted them instantly. I meant to ask for them last X-mas, but I never did. And I put off buying them until now. And all I can say is:

Firstly, the wait, though it was in the estimated delivery time, was excruciating. Since I've ordered from other sites and have gotten my package in sometimes four or five days, perhaps I'm being just spoiled. But the product that I received really disappointed me. While I like the style of the boot - a more gothic style of a Victorian boot - and I got a size that would fit me, the quality is that for nothing more than a costume ensemble. The inner stitch work is cheap, the "leather" isn't even good pleather, and the soles really frighten me (they have no grip, so I'm scared to walk in these on a slippery surface).

Before these get ripped to shreds by the end of the week, I will be returning these to get my money back.

I"m not sure what's going on, but I've tried contacting amazon three different times about the issue. I placed an order for some items and received the confirmation email (including estimated shipping and delivery times). When I went to my amazon account to check the status of the order, my orders had disappeared! Clicking the order numbers directly from the email did not help. I emailed the sellers personally and received no reply back.

Normally I have had no issues with Amazon. Their refusal to answer my questions multiple times over has made me rethink my decision to shop with them, no matter how good a deal they seem.

For information, my bank account does not appear to have been charged, so I am not out any money. Mostly just frustrated at the lack of communication. Anyone else having these issues?

(I too have been eying some things from Pyramid Collection and I do not think I will ever order from them, based on your experiences with them ladies.)

Quick update: literally as soon as I had submitted this post, I received a reply from customer service. They simply said they were unable to process payments (which appeared to be that I had not put in my new card expiration date) and canceled the orders without notification.

If you like tabletops and stuff these guys are wonderful! They advertised free shipping on orders over $100 (so naturally my game-happy fiance jumped on this). All the games arrived via fedex in a large box, carefully packaged, no damage at all. Will be ordering from these guys again!
