Why has this thread gone quiet? We african goths need one another more than on any continent.

Well Gothique, you are not alone. I am slowly trying to get into the lifestyle myself and thought that it might be prudent to try a place like this.

With excruciating summers and snow-less winters, it's pretty boring. I love it when people refer to it as a lifestyle. I don't now why. It sounds so much better than what some petty teenagers call a stereotype. :shudders: A lifestyle. That is exactly what the Gothic subculture is meant to be. ^^ Meh. I'm running out of time. Anyway, are you completely new? Or are you a gothy non-goth who decided to check out a Gothic site? > w <

Re: Any African Goth out there....
Morning fistly, bloody awful hour. Secondly, I just cannot express it due to the place that I work. They tend to be the whole suit and tie group and even in the IT department (you would think I would get some freedom), still stuck with the collared shirt although they have given me leniency on that one to a degree. House-mate is a JW and therefore, have to be careful at home. Should all be sorted though by the end of this year if I can get what I want . So call me more of a closet goth than anything else but I am not overly fond of labels.

Most of the time I'm just too lazy to apply much effort in the mornings. Your workplace sounds exciting, though. But I agree, sometimes it's better to blend in. Sadly, some idiots don't take goths seriously (or they call you emo instead). Unless you can come by their house at night with a baseball bat in hand. xD Nawh, I'm just kidding. South Africa, and Africa in general, is a really inapt place to express your true colours mainly due to the weather. What is your view on models, though? I'm just curious. :p
