It's not only because it's a pretty rude thing to say, but, it's mainly because you don't speak good: you speak well.

If you're going to comment on someone's ability to speak your mother tongue or the dialect that you speak, you should at least be able to speak it properly yourself.

You talk purdy.

My peeve: Idiotic Dishwasher Loading. It's like this:

Glasses on the top rack. They're smaller and don't need the larger spray from the bottom sprayer. And keep glasses in one row and mugs in another. It's so much easier to unload.

Plates on the bottom, along with pots, cutting boards, etc. Big stuff. Make sure each surface is hit by a sprayer. It's really simple. Or so I thought.

And it's silverware handle down (except for steak knives). That way any sludge drains toward the end you don't use to eat. You unload silverware by dumping it on a CLEAN towel and grabbing the HANDLES ONLY when putting away.

Why all the attention? This is the best way to get dishes clean and sanitized in general, and the best way to ensure that your roommate's nasty grubby fingers don't grab the end of a fork you're about to eat with after he's been to a bar the night before and his girlfriend slept over and he got up and didn't shower and then decided to unload the dishwasher.

Agh!!!

Statistics. Null hypotheses. Alternate hypotheses. Z-values. T-tests. Standard deviations. Those are my pet peeves at the moment. They make my head hurt.

I close the dining room door for a reason...so why is my brother standing behind me and smirking at me in the mirror as I do belly-dance practise? >.<

Because no matter what you do, your siblings will be there to make fun of you. It's what they do best.

I had a friend who called it "Sadistics" - it didn't help that the lecture was on Monday nights from 7-10 pm.

Holy crap  that is pretty insane. I finally finished my homework assignment dealing with something I'd never heard of before (not even in my Bachelors class). I have more to do but I'm so tired now I can't even think enough.

Ten more days. Then I can relax.

Just because that is his opinion it doesn't mean he's right. Besides, would you really want your brother lookin at you saying, "You look hot, sis"?

My sisters and I made fun of each other even for things we knew we were good at.

@Blackavar, 'Practice makes perfect' as the old saying goes. Don't be discouraged by people who don't have the guts to go do something. Jealousy because they can't or wont do anything themselves?

Peeve: I want to do something worthwhile in work. Stuck doing *stuff* at the moment when I know I could so much more, but I won't get recognized for it so I'm off doing things for myself.

Every shirt I want to wear for work is requiring me to modify it in some shape or form to make it conform to dress code policy.

Blackavar, practice does make perfect, and that your brother says to you that it doesn't look good is something brothers do. But brothers can also say to their sisters that they can't do anything, and that they best stop all activity right now, but brag to their friends that their sisters are very good in the same thing. Talking from experience with my own brother here. So, see it as a strange form of encouragement and keep practising!

LS, are you going to start your own company? Good luck then!!!! (Or am I misinterpreting your words?)

Peeve of my own: going to the grocery store to get fruit (apples and oranges), only to discover that they only have kiwis, pineapples, and just one variety of apples. I don't like kiwis. I don't feel like pineapple. And where are the other four types of apples they normally stock? So, I bought cookies instead of fruit. Would have been better if I would have stayed home. Cookies are tasty, but bad.

And I hate vuvuzela's. Or how those noisy things are called.

I enjoy it too much to stop :) I think my brother genuinely doesn't think much of it (or perhaps thinks it just really random that I took it up lol) but he has done that sort of thing before. He's told me I'll never get a book published, but does it with a glint in his eye that sort of says "Go on, prove me wrong!"

We have a running joke now, where he does the Stewie-and-Brian banter from Family Guy now..."You're working on your novel? The one you've been working on for two years?" *voice gets higher*

Another pet peeve....when you can't tick off someone for being rude to you on the phone because she's your brother's bitch boss and you don't want to get him sacked ^^;;

Seriously, there's no need to talk to anyone the way she does...the fact she does it to her employees is bad, but I'm a stranger, I'm anyone! Technically, being "just anyone" I should be able to get away with saying "Hey you, don't talk to me like an idiot, learn some manners!" But I know it's Zak who would get the shit for it (even though he's a little butt-hole, I don't want him to lose his job). Once Zak gets another job, I'm going to make sure next time I'm in that bar that I tell her she needs to sort her attitude out!
