Sanford & Son left me perplexed. But I have just about every available old episode of Steptoe & Son on DVD, and that old series never fails to crack me up.

All those name suggestions were already too good to change in anagram. And I never got to suggest a name, so here goes:

Scott E. Gothman
(anagram of "Goth.net Mascot")

"Scottie" for short?

A Goth.net mascot....

(A belated Post)

Though not of my own creation, I would have to say that This should always be on the list.

Or, mayhap, this picture is better to your liking.

Nephele : Great anagram!

Discussion of flags elsewhere set me to thinking.

Allow me to unveil (unfurl?) the flag of the world's newest nation...

Gothsylvania!

Of course, Gothsylvania differs from all other nations in the world because it's actually purely conceptual. It doesn't have lines on a map to say where it is, it doesn't have a constitution, and it doesn't have armed forces to protect it.

Because it's conceptual, Gothsylvania is a mixing-pot of different races, languages and cultures, all with their own individual takes on what it means to be Gothsylvanian. Sure, there are very different takes on what it means, in all kinds of different cultural fields, and occasionally that leads to arguments. But that doesn't necessarily mean that anyone is right or wrong...

Therefore, Gothsylvania neither demands, nor needs, loyalty. There is no penalty for burning the Gothsylvanian flag - after all, why would anyone particularly want to be loyal to a conceptual arrangement? You can be proud to be a Gothsylvanian... Or not, if you wish. There is no Pledge of Allegiance, although, as it's window-dressing to the concept, you can have one if you want... Just don't expect it to necessarily be the same as anyone else's.

But, the plain fact is, everybody who is Gothsylvanian, recognises themselves as such, purely and simply. And, kinda rubs along with the citizens of all other nations, which aren't, you know, conceptual.

Sounds like Gothsylvania would make an interesting micro-nation.
