Re: Advice re LGBT goth forums
ArcAngel wrote: HOWEVER, I will admit that the only way I have a problem with bisexual females/lesbians, as far as their sexuality goes, is if they know I'm heterosexual, yet still try to make advances on me. ^ I know how annoying that can be, really I do as I get it from men (even in goth clubs which is really disappointing). But really, can you help who you're attracted to? It doesn't help that there are straight women who will sleep with lesbians. Both of my recent exes had both had relationships with heterosexual women in the past.

Re: Advice re LGBT goth forums
Evidently, DarkPhoenix11’s celebration was a little premature.
Given the social dynamics I’ve been noticing on the forum as a whole lately, I was expecting this.
I’m at work at the moment, so I can’t give this my full attention. However, if you’re determined to –hijack this thread (again) and wash our dirty laundry in public, then you will have a full answer later.

Re: Advice re LGBT goth forums
I'll be waiting.
Just consider I won't answer. So, please talk freely, tell them what a horrible person I am, I'll let them make their own decision and I'll accept even being banned by the board, I won't say a word. I told you what I wanted you to know, I deleted because it would give others my perspective and I don't want them to know what I think so your opinion will be considered more. I'm sick of this situation so I'll let you turn it into your advantage.
By the way, YES GUYS I'M A MONSTER now go ahead, DarklyInclined, destroy me.

Re: Advice re LGBT goth forums
Ummm… Nightlight, please consider your post above and edit it?
You’re not doing yourself any favours.
Nobody is accusing you of being a monster. Your behaviour on Sunday was extremely unwarranted, and – if you really look at it closely – had little to do with the reasons you mentioned in the post you have now deleted. Yes, you were guilty of encouraging people in anything which appeared to be painting me in negative colours, and yes, you stifled anything which appeared to be contradictory to your efforts. You seemed to be engaged in a witch-hunt, which is what prompted me to describe your behaviour – in a PM – as fascistic. But then, as I pointed out on “Thoughts and Sharing”, what you got from me is effectively what you gave.
I’m sorry if you find what I said about you in my apology to people to be insulting. That wasn’t my intent; it was a request for an apology and gave you the reasons why I thought that apology was due. If I’d been out of line, I think some of the people who subsequently responded would have pointed that out – they call things as they find them.
Why are you saying I’m denying you an opinion? That’s not true at all – and this, I hope, proves it.
I sincerely find your post saddening, and I hope you’ll edit it.

Eeeekkk.... It's scary to think that this thread comes so close to the top of the list. On the one hand, it's nice to think that goths within the LGBTQI community would consider gnet as a place to come to to express themselves... However, on the other, I'd hate them to see what a train wreck this thread is, primarily because of my actions. ADMINS: If there's anything salvageable, would it be possible to close this thread and insert the USEFUL stuff into another one on the same theme?

No problem Though I just realised the forums I linked to are actually aimed at teens, sorry about that Generally I go to forums aimed at my Country/City specifically, I was trying to find a global one for you

Re: Advice re LGBT goth forums
It was a really nice thought nonetheless. I've actually taken a look at the Queer Attitude forums. I tried "goth" in the search engine and found two threads which were quite old and really weren't terribly deep. I think Queer Attitude would therefore be a good general forum for members of the LGBTQI community, but you're also right about the fact that it's for younger people, so it may be of limited use to anyone here.

Re: Advice re LGBT goth forums
I must ask, you've been using the acronym LGBTQI, and I'm not familiar with it. I know LGBT but I don't recognise the QI?

Re: Advice re LGBT goth forums
I think it means "queer & inter" respectively?

Re: Advice re LGBT goth forums
Hmm, maybe you're right, but queer seems redundant and i don't understand "inter"

Re: Advice re LGBT goth forums
While the word "queer" does - at least for gay people this side of the pond, and this may be universal - have unfortunate associations, it's a contraction of "genderqueer" - but there's already a "G" in the abbreviation, hence "Q". "Inter" is, indeed, extremely hard to define, but it's nonetheless distinct from any other of the groups covered.
That said, the interests of those communities are equally a part of this discussion. Funeral Party's post earlier in the thread made me think a great deal about how inclusive I was being by stopping at "LGBT" (eg, not!), therefore I've added Q and I out of respect to anybody who would consider themselves genderqueer or intersex.
