Wolfman is Ripoff of Twilight! Film at 11!
http://www.latinoreview.com/news/taylor ... light-9247I don't know about any of you, but I'm actually shocked(shockingly amused?) that someone would ever think that Universal 'ripped off' Meyers 'original idea' of werewolves! Are people these days really that dense? I'd swear someone was putting one over on me if I heard such a thing in person. I wasn't sure if I should put this in 'Movies', 'Humor' or 'Things that make me sad'. My favorite comment from that page is from one 'Leroy': It turns out Nosferatu is a tremendous rip off of Twilight as well, Team Edward for the win!

Re: Wolfman is Ripoff of Twilight! Film at 11!
That's frightening... Really, how can anybody even think to write such a "thing". I'd think it as sarcasm if I heard it said from anybody... Appart from the fact that Mayers points out that hers are not werewolves but something else I don't even remember (it was something like native american's spirit become a wolf... a WOLF) and that she repeats thousends times werewolves are something else... How could anyone think of Mayers as the "inventor" of werewolves?
I'm scared... is this "thing" (I mean the author of the e-mail) really at free foot somewhere?

After this I'm seriously thinking of giving up saing I liked the books -.-" Really, I find Mayers idea of a subculture amongst vampires very funny, I liked it because it was like mainstream and goth subculture, just the other way round. But reading this, I take my distance.

Oh...catching my breath! I needed a good laugh! Doesn't this person realize that Universal purchased the rights to the Wolfman back in 1941 by purchasing the original screen play (before Twilight was even a thought), and still owns the rights to this screen play to this day, thus why they were able to do the remake. LOL...I'm going to start losing it again!
I love the ignorance of some people...so quick to go spouting stuff before doing any kind of real research.
****the laughter continues****

Wow, that is hilarious. People need to do their research, or at least jump off the twilight craze long enough to realize that the concept of wolves and werewolves in movies has been around long before twilight was even thought up. Thank you for the laugh, I needed that.

I hope as for the main topic: Good Lord!! Don't people READ any more?? who the heck hasn't heard of the old werewolf, vampire, etc. legends? how are kids being brought up these days? On the other hand...COULD that have been a hoax? although there are people ignorant enough to have written this...

broken wrote: I'm pretty sure this is some kind of hoax or troll post. No one can be that stupid... well... *cough* I second this. Lines like "If you would watch the transformation of Jacob Black, (Taylor Lautner) he doesn't come close to looking as fake, cheap and or mutated as the wolf man" really give it away. The wolf transformations scenes in Twilight: A New Hope or whatever the smeg it's called are cheaper than a two-bit hooker, and I know that just from watching the trailer. Quote: As for Twilight, you couldn't pay me to watch that. I watched it for a dare/challenge with a bottle of Jack Daniels and a couple of friends. Even with the booze I nearly didn't make it past the first hour mark. Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" is a far more entertaining movie.

Okay. Last time I'm commenting on Twilight for real this time.
No matter if these are hoax letters or not, what we need to do is to track these bitches down, and have them commit seppuku at gunpoint, as they dishonor themselves as human beings.

broken wrote: As for Twilight, you couldn't pay me to watch that. That's all it's about. Whoever watched it, may know what the plot is, but will never know what the content is. To me, the movie is a complete waste of time and money, it took a saga to make it something else. Those who should feel shame are those who made the two movies on the twilight saga. The books tell a story revolving around Bella and her being different from other teenagers finding her place in a community of subculture vampires, it seems to say anyone smart and cultured will never fit in mainstream human culture but neither in mainstream vampire culture, because being smart and cultured will always force you into seeing simple peoples limitations. I watch the films to have knowledge of what people is talking about when they make reference to the saga, beacause, no matter if they hate it or love it, it seems to be the most interesting subject anyone brings on (at least in my area). I am deeply intollerant both towards stupid people like the "thing" writing the e-mail object of this discussion who watch the movie because Edward or Jacob are so cool and those who spit on 4 books when knowing what they are only from "things" like the one writing the e-mail in objec. In my opinion, both talk through their ignorance. Reading a book doesn't mean to read it to the end or to like it, it only means having knowledge about it. I always do anything possible not to talk about things I don't know. Now you can kill me or ignore me. This is my opinion.
