anyone who likes Children of bodom

Nah, too over-hyped and happy-sounding for me.

I really don't like the "melodeath" genre aside a few exceptions: early At The Gates, some Dissection, Dawn, Sacramentum, early Dark Tranquility, early Amorphis, first In Flames album.

I think Iron Maiden riffs sound better with Iron Maiden-type music, but death metal in my opinion, needs to be dark, dirty and aggressive. Necrophobic and Bolt Thrower to give a couple examples.

Is that an admission of 'like' to Iron Maiden...a Metal Band????

Hey, i grew up with Iron Maiden!! They introduced me to the music world when I was about six!! Nothing bad to say about em

I despise Melodeath, Metalcore, "groove metal"(90s Pantera, Machine Head, Lamb of God, etc.), and nu-metal with a passion however.
Death to "chugga chugga" music!!!

I do like Pantera, but I guess that's because I'm a southern girl? I listened to them a lot when I was an early tween. I'm not much on the other two, can't say I'd know them if I heard them.

Maiden rules! That's all. What is it about British metal bands that is so awesome? No one can touch Judas Priest or Iron Maiden as far as guitar + drums + vox goes. Hell I'd much rather have had Maiden than Dio on the tour that I saw Priest. Dio= snorefest, which I almost did before Rob came on stage. Got to see both Motorhead and Testament(almost missed Practice What You Preach), 3 out of 4 isn't bad.

well....lamb of god isnt THAT bad...but they try to be heavy and they dont use good distortion for their guitarists. i need a real heavy bassy crunch that makes your ears bleed!

I take back what I said about Pantera, seeing as I'm gonna have to sing a cover of "Cowboys From Hell" later today.
That album, which is pretty much just a thrash album, and the 80s glam stuff are alright. From Vulgar Display of Power though, they get more into that crunchy, groovy, truck driver/baggy shorts music garbage I can't stand.
If I want to hear beefy boys singing about their penis while flexing their muscles, I'd rather listen to something like Danzig or Manowar :p

The only music that bass-crunchy downtuned guitars sound good on is doom metal, especially the more Drone-style stuff like Sunn O))).
Either that, or some of the old-school death metal bands like Bolt Thrower, early Carcass, or Incantation.

here where i live you can hear COB any time at any place. I idolize Alexi Laiho! he is a freakin god! my favourite song is Are you dead yet?!

I don't like Children of Boredom and their 2000 similar finnish clones
Their albums all sound the same, get one random and you have all COB but scrambled in another way. Hearing keyboard solo makes me sad, that's so lame
