If you know what the topic stands for, chances are you are either a Video Game nerd, or are in a relationship with one. I am the former. =D

Anyone who likes games like that (First person shooter) should consider getting it for the PC, and we should all have a merry good time. It's a modern war style game where you shoot guns, throw grenades, and call in airstrikes and whatnot. I like to run around and use the knife melee only cause i'm a prick like that. ^_^

I have it on PS3, it's great, I'm especially happy about the fact it has 4 player splitscreen on it.
Splitscreen multiplayer has pretty much vanished on console

I have not played any of the CoD titles, but know I should. I just have never gotten around to it.

Also, the handheld weapons are often the most lethal!!! It's often my strategy to have a weak but fast character with low encumberance and then jink like crazy while running up to my attacker and slash them to bits with my knife!!! Against snipers this is usually very effective.

I've never played a Call of Duty before this one either. And what you just described is pretty much exactly what i do. =D

Don't get it for the PC. The lack of dedicated servers means you can spoof your net stats and machine capabilities to become the host and then flood your machine with useless traffic rendering yourself at 0 ping while everyone else has *all* the ping. All of it. In the entire world. Moreover, the videos floating around of the blind knife-throw kill that wins a match? It's even been hacked on X-box live. The game's online playerbase seems to be composed mostly of cheaters at the moment. People are getting incredibly frustrated with it.

I found this dissapointing, the campaign is as short and easy as the original, the story is utterly ridiculous.
It desperately needs co-op on the campaign.
The special ops are much more fun, especially enjoy playing co-op on the stealth missions.
I haven't spent anytime really playing online, and given COD games are at the end of the day as basic and generic as FPS get, I probably won't either.
...still, not a bad game and given it's only competition in the genre is the failfest of borderlands...

As for me, Modern Warfare is a bit to frenetic (I own MW1 but haven't played MW2 yet). Too many people sprinting around and running sideways while spraying bullets with fully-automatic weapons. I liked the first Call of Duty because the weapons made you make each shot count (I'm a huge fan of the M1 Garand), or better yet, the first Ghost Recon (with its two expansions).

Not entirely - I just read an article that Left 4 Dead 2 supports splitscreen multiplayer! I am hoping I get it for XMas this year.

As for CoD - My brother wants it for the PS3 for XMas, but we just can't drop $60 for it. Maybe he'll get it for his B-Day when the price comes down or when I can find a used copy of it.
