 MMOs
The reason life is worth living, what do you play?
Personally I'm into EVE, a steep learning curve keeps most of the "poor players" (The kind you typically see in WoW) out. Also the GMs/Admins are great, you can do anything as long as it doesn't exploit game mechanics. A guy got scammed out of a few million (not terribly high, but to him a large amount) and when crying to the GMs. They talked to him, when they learned it had been done using legal game mechanics they told him they wouldn't do anything. The guy got mad and started up a rage storm over local, the GMs calmly replied, you lost your money, don't be an idiot next time.

 Re: MMOs
I've seen how some people's lives get eaten by MMOs so I stay away from them while I'm still a student.

 Re: MMOs
I play World of Warcraft, and yes, people do get warped into it. I can never understand why, but may be someone studying psychology can answer that one.
The one I am looking to start playing is Aion.

MMORPG's are a waste of time and will ultimately kill the human race. MrGrim wrote: I play Mabinogi (a nexon game)

I found as soon as I maxed out all my magic, I felt no need to play anymore. If all you're interested in are new super-expensive clothing that rises and falls in fad-ey intervals and are a sociopath, Mabinogi is the perfect game for you. The one I am looking to start playing is Aion. World of Warcraft is too - excuse me - mainstream... Aion, though generic and WoW-ish in nature, offers stunning graphics and a great soundtrack. Those two reason are enough to keep me playing. You should try this game if you haven't already.

 Re: MMOs
I play World of Warcraft. It's fun. I don't get totally engrossed in it when I play, I think it's because I do not have an addictive personality. Yeah I know it's mainstream, but it's fun for me to play and my friends play it as well as my brother so it gives me something to do with them.

 Re: MMOs
EVE and WOW were my two big ones, but did dabble in Guild Wars too <3 not really bothered much with games on coming back to the UK though. I love the friendships forged through them, some of my best friends (that I've met in real life at guild meet ups) are from WoW. If you can still like people after an all nighter in wipe city then you know it's friends for life

 Re: MMOs
Guild Wars is my one weakness. I have all three chapters and the Eye of the North expansion.Beat both factions and nightfall so far, although that isnt really the point of the game.
Against the Tide, if you ever get back into guild wars my guild would be glad to welcome you, we are all pretty casual players. guild name is MDN Warriors, and my most frequent char is Theodoria the True.

 Re: MMOs
Thank you SisterSandy, that invitation is very tempting - I'm trying to get my real life on track before I'll allow myself to get sucked into another virtual one though

 Re: MMOs
Currently I'm only playing Mabinogi. When Mabinogi: Heroes comes to the US, I will probably switch over to that-I like my gaming to be as realistic as possible and the graphics in the current incarnation are too cutesy, even by my standards...

 Re: MMOs
I used to play WoW on a raiding level, but had to quit after me and my boyfriend got new jobs and new daily schedules, and because it was generally very time-consuming. I still miss it a lot though, so I guess I'm sort of addicted. I might start playing a little when Cataclysm comes out, to level up and stuff, but sadly I doubt I will do raids again soon.
However, I am also highly anticipating Star Wars: The Old Republic.

 Re: MMOs
As for my MMO time, a lack of funds has forced me to return to Lord of the Rings Online. I got a lifetime membership when it first came out so I never have to pay to play, I just have to pay for the expansions (but I even get a break on the price of those for being a lifetime member!).
