The geekiest thing about me is that a usual weekend for me used to be programming SAS code while waching Bleach followed by Dance Dance Revolution and then crafting while wearing an Anime Expo tee-shirt.

I know someone will top me...give it your best shot.

I am a member of the National Space Society and the newsletter editor for the Los Angeles chapter. My main vacation each year is their international conference, where I get to meet Apollo astronauts, NASA (and international equivalent) bigwigs, and other scientists/engineers/space entrepreneurs.

- Before I started heavily listening to music, sung with words, all I listened to was video game music. Then, when I started to listen to music with words, it was all anime theme songs
- Before I started college, about the only thing I did in my spare time besides crafting was play video games, and my brother and I had a tradition of playing LoZ:OoT every summer
- I could play all of the ocarina songs from LoZ on my flute
- Actually, I can play a lot of video game/anime theme songs on my flute
- I have about $400+ worth of manga and anime. I'm not even going to estimate all of my video game stuff from over the years (and I'm a novice compared to some other people)
- My local haunt is Borders Book Store (it use to be GameStop back in high school)
- Until around sophmore/junior year of high school, I made the honor roll every year
- I'm a member of my campus's Student Environmental Organization, and I'm thinking of going to my campus's Anime Club again
- I actually liked the books that we read in school
- I live with a Trekkie, so I know some Star Trek knowledge here and there
- I'm a huge fantasy nerd. I'm always daydreaming about something fantasy related
- I never officially played, but I use to collect Magic the Gathering cards and I have one of the monster manuals from Dungeons and Dragons
- I starved myself in high school in order to buy more anime/manga/video games
and

- I don't want to sound conceited, but I'm considered an attractive goth geek girl, and thus, I have attracted the attention of lots of other geeks. And sadly, they all fit the stereotypical discription of a geek. :?

I guess the fact that I'm an engineering student would be a start. I love math, science, computer programming, model building, mechanical drawing/design, and other aspects of engineering.

Aside from that, I love videogames and anime.

carpathian dark princess: I still visit my college anime club when I come home from school.

In college I was a member of said anime club and the Microbiology Student Association.

I studied chemistry and biology in school and proofread to earn money.

And my last two dates came from a little site called geek to geek.com.

carpathian dark princess- I'm not a hardcore geek, but I also have a guilty pleasure for anime and video games(I'm addicted to the Pokemon games. Yes, I said Pokemon.). Back in high school, I was also constantly broke because of my addiction to Borders and GameStop. I also like anime music even though I can't understand a word they're saying.

I read fan fiction. Yes, I'm one of those people who like to read about their favorite characters from their favorite show and support their favorite couples despite them not even being real. I'm also a sucker for reading the Yaoi and Yuri ones, but I'm not one of those obsessive ones who take it WAY too far.

I was once on a pub-quiz team with Monte Cook. I got more of the D&D questions right than he did.

Ah yes. I admit that I read fan fiction, but not only that: I write fan fiction too! Of course, I've been kinda deadlocked for the past couple of months because my hard drive crashed and my brother never ordered a HDD SATA enclosure case for me, so I am yet to attempt a recovery of my files. But it's school, and I'm in that writing mood again, so I've already started to pick up where I last left off.

That is why you must always back up your data!!

Anywho, I remember back when I was elementary school, all I ever wanted to be when I grew up was - not a ballerina or a nurse - but a paleontologist (I'm surprised I even knew what that word meant in second grade!), and I remember how in middle school, I would lug around this big companion book to the Walking with Dinosaurs series.

Paleontologist? were there good natural history museums near where you grew up?

Speaking of elementary school, I was reading Greek and Roman mythology while everyone else was reading Nancy Drew books.

The U of M campus in Ann Arbor has a natural history museum that I went to when I was younger. Our environmental organization went there earlier this year, and we got to tour their lab and archives where they prepared, examined and stored specimens. It was very interesting.

I have to admit, Disney's Pocahontas and Hercules got me into history and mythology, so I actually started reading about them from an early start, not just depending on a Disney interpretation of them.

It's probably the fact that I never get extended warranties on any of my electronics because I can fix them myself.

That, and my undying love of Antiques Roadshow. :P

Antiques Roadshow is geeky??
Appreciation of artworks and oddities?
hmmm...well, I can see geeks bringing collections of comic books, old bottlecaps, Star Trek memorabilia...I guess I can see how.

I guess the geekiest thing about me is that I run the largest and most difficult contest at Defcon, the world's largest hacker conference-

And I contact juggle.

Nope, I'm not biting. Suffice it to say I'm a big fan of science. :D
