 Hellsing
I have just started to watch the OVAs, after known this anime series for a good number of years. A friend had dragged me into it, and currently I am really deep in it. After watching the 3rd OVA I decided to bring this topic to this forum because it fits, for many reasons, and also I am interested to hear peoples opinions about it.
Have a nice day!

 Re: Hellsing
I liked the OVAs and the series. They were suprisingly similar. I wish the series had been longer, though. I know it's cheesy to name a character 'Alucard', but I like the whole concept of it. And those Cassuls are badass! Victoria Seras was pretty cool too, with her giant canon of a gun. Too bad I can't find a decent 1/6 copy. I don't relish the thought of having to make one, but what kind of OOAKer would I be if I didn't?
I really like Integera, but I don't understand why a smart independant woman has to be put in manly looking clothes. It's almost like the artists have to de-feminize her because being a smart, wealthy, independant woman isn't something a woman in a dress can pull off.

 Re: Hellsing
I never said that Hellsing is a gothic anime, it's just that the series is embracing the darkness so much that I thought to bring this subject up, because I really don't know how should I treat this...I mean yeah, the anime is really kitchy and I personally think that it's working on the instinct more rather on the intellect.
I didn't like the character of Victoria, because she has a pretty obvious role- in all this cold hearted darkness there had to be a character of a cute little naive [and perhaps sexy] girl. I mean c'mon, that's so not original [and weird, because I found Allucard's name more original...].
Integra was a pretty cool character because actually she is the one who is killing all those people. Allucard is only her servant and obeys he orders, which are allways the same- kill, kill, kill. And of course, she gets really pissed off when being reminded of that, haha.

 Re: Hellsing
I just don't like that they make it seem like a woman in a dress could never be as ruthless as a man. As far as it not being 'Goth', who the f@ck cares? Goths like dark things, vampires ARE dark things. Deal with it!

 Re: Hellsing
I agree with you Wolfmammy. Integra's sexuality is kind of strange...Maybe if she was wearing a dress it could have been more.. cheesy? Well, I don't know, but i found her to serious sometimes, and not realistic [and I believe she should be kind of realistic...].
