 Re: Arm warmers on guys
The right dude can carry off anything, but on the wrong guy, I think arm warmers, like any alternative fashion, would look pathetic.

 Re: Arm warmers on guys
I hate armwarmers in general - a useless fashion accessory in my opinion. If you want to keep your arms warm, wear a top with long sleeves. Otherwise wear gloves.
I think armwarmers on men look terrible, unless they were going for a deathrock style, in which case they might just get away with it. Then again, they're more likely to be actual sleeves than armwarmers.

 Re: Arm warmers on guys
I think arm warmers can be quite fetching on a guy, provided the rest of the outfit is made to match. So, I'd have to disagree with Hell's Angel on this one. Armwarmers can be very useful, and look great if stylized, such as ones that are opera length, fitted, and accented with lace. It's nice to have a pair lying around for winter days right before laundry day, when you're all out of long sleeves and need something to keep you warm (like me today). And they're great on top of long sleeves when your only matching jacket is tight and won't accomadate an additional full layer. They have their uses, most definately, in my most humble opinion.

I quite like opera gloves (on women, not men!), although I think they're a bit dressy for everyday wear. Armwarmers just seem neither here nor there (on men and women), although my opinions reflect current fashion trends. Always nice to read different opinions though.

 Re: Arm warmers on guys
I love arm warmers on men and women granted they can actually pull it off.I have a pair of arm warmer gloves that are just exquisite. I can't believe I went around for so long without them. I have yet to see anyone who looked bad in arm warmers, male or female so, maybe I am being a bit biased. I just like them because they can spice up any plain outfit and give it just the look you want without going overboard.

I wear them pretty much every time I go out. The only picture I have is here but it doesn't show much.

 Re: Arm warmers on guys
I think arm warmers on guys would just look strange. I have a pair of buckled sleeves that are awesome. If you want something on your arm sleeves or long gloves are probably a better bet.

 Re: Arm warmers on guys
I have seen it look fabulous, and I have seen it look terrible. All depends on the guy, his fashion sense, and the way he carries himself.
Even the coolest clothing can be wasted on a person if they don't have the right confidence and attitude to pull it off. Unfortunately for the fans of arm warmers, I think they’ve become one of those generic, "test the waters" kinds of clothing items, sported by baby bats and folks just beginning to try out "alt" fashion. (Largely because they're relatively cheap, and easy enough to slip off when at mom and dad's or at school, I would imagine.)

 Re: Arm warmers on guys
I started wearing knit kevlar "arm warmers" to keep from burning the hair off my arms while flameworking glass, got in the habit of wearing them all the time.

 Re: Arm warmers on guys
I wear them occasionally. I've found that they can really complement a sleeveless shirt. But then again, fashion is an opinion, not a science. It depends on the individuals taste, not the masses. And besides, what could be more goth than not obeying the masses comforts and just being yourself?

 Re: Arm warmers on guys
I really like armwarmers and bracers, both on men and women. I haven't yet seen it look bad on a man.
As for whether someone is the right person for it, I think everyone should wear whatever they feel comfortable in. As long as they are comfortable, I believe it depends more on the combination of clothes one wears with armwarmers than the person him/herself.

 Re: Arm warmers on guys
My husband wears them, but he is EXTREMELY picky about them. The only pair he has are Tripp (ugh). He looked for about 8 months before he found a pair that he liked. They have to have some silver hardware, buckles, rivets, or etc on them. They look great on him when he wears them.

 Re: Arm warmers on guys
The only way I wear them is when I have a shirt on with long sleeves. Mine are modified shin guards, and I've been complemented on them a fair bit.
