I think I'll pass on the Vampire Freaks then, the last thing I want to do is be surrounded with a bunch of teenagers. I may check out Myspace then.
LoL. I only ask about the traffic because everytime I've been down in that area I just sit on 495. I didn't know if it was bad all the time, or just the times that I've been there.
I haven't had time for a lot of fun lately because I work full-time and started going back to school, so this semester has been kind of crazy. I really love movies though, I also read a lot. I'm really into art and I make jewelry. I also enjoy roller derby (watching not playing), though I missed this season because of school.
What do you do for fun? Yea I have met a few older people on Vampire Freaks, I dunno I just keep it up there for the hell of it, for my photos and vanity bullshit lol I used to work full time, I just lost my job last week, so I am scrambling to find a new one, it sucks, no one is hiring :/ My friends are both in roller dergy groups What do you take at school? Hmm me for fun heh , I go to clubs sometimes, to dance, dress up, I like to read, mmm whatever comes up I guess, nothing specific, I need some hobbies..I like to cobble things together sometimes. Like for Cons and Festivals. I could do it professionally, but Ive never gotten around to trying. Just try to keep myself busy I guess. What have you come down to Silver spring for?

That sucks about your job. Now really is a bad time to look, no one ever seems to hire this time of year. I'm actually looking for a new job myself. What kind of work do you do?
That's cool, which roller derby groups are your friends in?
I'm an Art History Major.
What do you mean by cobble? Do you go to Renn Fest?
I was in Silver Spring two summers ago for a wedding and again a few months later for the speeding ticket I received after the wedding. lol.

 Re: Any Maryland Goths?
Have you ever waited tables? I always made decent money doing that and you always get cash in your pocket at the end of your shift. LoL. I wasn't sure if you meant like a Cobbler or cobblestones. Steampunk goggles are cool. What kind of materials do you build things out of? Renn Fest is awesome. We go every year, and usually multiple times. Though this year, it was freakin' packed once the fall hit. It was awful, it's like the whole state of Maryland just discovered it and descended. I also dress like a pirate. I don't have AIM because I'm at work ("working" ) and I'm not allowed to download any software. I do have gmail and there is chat on there if that helps?

 Re: Any Maryland Goths?
When I waited tables, I would always write each person down with their order on my writing pad, like man with glasses or woman in blue. It helped a lot. We looked into getting a season pass, but you have to eight times for it to be worth it. Yeah, it would be interesting to see what other Renn Fests are like. I think I do have a picture, but I know I haven't uploaded any of those to photobucket yet. I only went pirate this year though, last year I was just a generic wench. Probably the most discernible feature of my costume is my black and purple tri-corner pirate hat (with plumes), so if you saw a tall chick with a giant hat, that would be me! I sent you an email. Good luck on your job hunt!

Ill leave it as a last resport heh I want to see pirate photo! =P I do like photos if the person is in a cool outfit and all. You need a myspace to show off heh

 Re: Any Maryland Goths?
I'm a Marylander as well. I'd actually like to make some 'Goth' friends that live around me so I don't have to go clubbing (when I get to go again) alone.
And also, anyone who is interested in Paranormal/Ghost hunting type stuff as well. I'm pretty big into that.

Yeah, 30 min sounds about right. So I take you've been to Orpheus, then?
What kind of ghost hunting stuff do you do?

 Re: Any Maryland Goths?
Yeah but it's been many years since I've been to Orpheus, and I have been wanting to go back. The only problem I had with the place was they played no actual Goth at all the whole night we went, just Mudvayne, Rob Zombie and similar stuff, none of which I was personally into. I hear that Friday nights are the nights to go for Goth, and Saturdays (the night I went) have more Metal/alternative stuff. I guess next time I go it'll be on a Friday, hopefully with Steven Archer DJing so I can say hi to him as well.
As far as Ghost hunting, it's mostly just me and a few friends going around to possibly haunted places with a few digital cameras snapping pictures of stuff. We mostly just do it for fun, and I am obsessed with spooky things so it gives me the chance to walk around old dirt roads and abandoned places. I'm wasn;t originally very interested in getting evidence to prove to a bucnh of people who refuse to believe in ghosts to begin with that they are real. I just do it for fun really.

 Re: Any Maryland Goths?
I know Orpheus has changed a bit over the years. Friday's are now Goth/Industrial and Saturday's Industrial/Electronic. I haven't been, so I'm not really sure what they're like. They are on Myspace though, under Ascension and Rapture respectively.
When I was a teenager, my friends and would occasionally go to spooky places at night. There's this one house up on Jarretsville Pike near Loch Raven Reservoir that is supposedly haunted. I don't know if you grew up in Maryland or have heard the story, but apparently it was some psychiatrist who went crazy and killed his whole family and put their remains in jars. He then told his neighbors that his family went to Europe. He also wrote this bizarre book about dreams and the brain, but never sold any and inside the house are boxes of copies of this book.
So, we went there and I don't know if one of my friends was screwing with us, but we heard all these strange noises and footsteps following us, so we got freaked out and left before going into the house. It's just as well, the house looked so dilapidated that it probably wasn't safe to wandering around in there, not to mention our lack of foresight to bring a flashlight.

 Re: Any Maryland Goths?
Heh, that would have prompted me to go it, most likely. I'm the one who goes to the Haunted attractions at Halloween, then stops at the creepiest parts to soak up the scenery and atmosphere. I have lived in Maryland my entire life, but have never heard of this place. It sounds interesting and like something I would like to investigate, though I would want to be wary of any possible dangers (which would likely not come from any ghosts) that might face me and my cohorts. I want to go to some good, REAL Goth clubs for once. If I set foot in one and hear any Metal I will exit accordingly. So I'm up for any suggestions as to which Goth clubs are worth the time and which are not.
