Songs with Sitar

You might be thinking of the Koto. If I could buy one, I`d be a happy man, as I`d love to use something other than the synthesized version in my recordings. They have some of the best sitar i have ever heard in rock music. Currently my favorite albums by them are: The 5000 Spirits or the Layers of the Onion and The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter. They use sitar on close to all of their songs. I agree with previous comments too. The Beatles have some great sitar. The Brian Jonestown Massacre is also such an amazing band. They probably don't use it as much as the Incredible String Band, but still quite a bit. Ravi Shankar is pretty much the sitar master. Donovan uses sitar sometimes. The Rolling Stones use it sometimes. You may also want to look into the traditional sitar ragas. I worship them. I am so in love with the sitar that i actually bought one recently. It has some sort of blemish on it so i got it for a significantly reduced price. I'm having a hell of a time trying to learn to play it though. Too bad there aren't any sitar gurus where i live.
