Just a random question what is everyones favorite poetic symbolism. Mine would be the ever classic black rose.

Good one.   Personally I favour a deep red rose, dried out.  Maybe a bunch of them in an old violin case.

Another one was when a writer refered to blood as a liquid rose. It beautifuly expresed his opinion.

Mine would be a black rose, wolves, fire, fog/mist, and a cross like my first tatoo is going to be a cross on fire with a black rose rapped around it

I also love the absolutely disgusting, yet hillarious, imagery in "To His Coy Mistress".  I'm not a big romantic, so if any guy ever had the balls to write Carpe Diem poetry for me, he'd be generously rewarded (after I finished laughing).
